Wilfred Ndidi insists Leicester City were unlucky not to come out with all three points in Sunday’s Premier League clash against Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge, reports Completesports.com.
Brendan Rodgers’ men held their hosts to a 1-1 draw in the thrilling encounter that saw them waste a number of glit edged chances, especially in the second half.
Ndidi was at fault for Chelsea’s first goal with Mason Mount dispossessing him of the ball before firing past Kasper Schmeichel.
The Nigeria international however made amends by grabbing the equaliser from a header in the 67th minute.
“It’s a mixed feeling for me because in the first half we were not up to it,” Ndidi told LCFC TV.
“We tried to come back in the second half, with better spirit and we tried to push forward. As I said, it was a mixed feeling because we should have got the three points even after the first half.
“We’re not here to compete, we’re here to contend. All of the guys have a good spirit and we know what we want this season.
“Getting this point, we’re not really happy, we’re kind of sad because we dominated the second half which could have brought a better result for us.”
Delighted with the Foxes’ performance especially in the second half, Ndidi is hopeful they can build on that in subsequent games.
“We’re really pleased. I keep saying, the first half was really bad. I feel bad about it,” Ndidi stressed.
“There’s lots of positives for us in the second half. We’ll try to take it to the next game because we know we can actually do it.”
Leicester City will host Sheffield United at the King Power Stadium on Saturday in their next league clash.

The good thing for Ndidi in this game is that he demonstrated CHARACTER. To come back from the howler in the first half, and perform the way he did in the second half, takes mental fortitude and character. And he capped his display with a well taken headed goal. This never-say-die attitude will serve him well in his adventures for club and country.
