Shooting Stars technical adviser Nurudeen Aweroro has expressed his delight at the club’s return to continental football after a 27-year absence, Completesports.com reports.
The Oluyole Warriors secured a place in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup following an impressive campaign in the Nigeria Premier Football League , NPFL , marking their long-awaited return to the continental stage.
Shooting Stars finished third on the NPFL table despite losing 1-0 to Niger Tornadoes on the final day of the season.
Aweroro Thankful For Successful Season
Aweroro commended his players for their determination, resilience, and fighting spirit throughout the campaign.
“To God be all the praise — He made this possible, I’m deeply humbled to lead this group,” Aweroro stated in his message to the management of the club, players, and supporters.

Rising Profile In NPFL
Aweroro was appointed head coach of the Ibadan club last summer, following his brief stint with Ikorodu City.
The young tactician guided the Oga Boys to a respectable fourth position in the NPFL last season.
He is widely regarded as one of the brightest young coaching talents in the Nigerian top-flight.
