Young tactician Michael Nsien has stated that he is the right man to lead the Super Eagles, reports Completesports.com.
The Nigerian-American is seeking to replace former handler Jose Peseiro.
Peseiro left the post at the end of his contract last month.
A number of coaches are vying for the position after it was declared vacant by the Nigeria Football Federation last week.
Nsien, 43, has however stake claim for the job, claiming he has the needed requirements to manage the Super Eagles.

“I am the best of both worlds,” Nsien during an interview with TVC.
“As a Nigerian-American, I have a passion for the Super Eagles; I also know the responsibilities that come with that position as head coach.
“I have experience working in an environment that spares no expense in technology, has top scouting infrastructure, and coaching collaboration from top to bottom.
“I know where we are at in Nigerian football, and I know the gap that exists. I can bridge the gap and help us reach the level that we should be at in world football. It’s time to change course and move forward. I want to put smiles on the faces of our people.”
Nsien, a former defender, who represented at the U-23 level during his active days is currently head coach of the US U-19 team.

From U19 straight to National team??? Why not start from u23 Assisat coach then national team assistant coach and finally national team coach. I wish you Goodluck!!!
YOU SHOULD HAVE STARTED FROM EITHER U-20 OR U-23 TO PROVE YOURSELF TO NIGERIA AND WORLD AT LARGE.
Since every Tom, Dick and Harry is now throwing their hat in the ring for this job, we in this forum should also get behind one of us here to go for the job.
I hereby nominate IPETU MADU for this purpose. He is one of our own. He is tried, tested, and highly competent. With him on duty, we can all rest easy.
I don die….(-▽-)
He should become assistant coach for a start, life is step by step gradual process.
This is true. He has to do more to be considered.
Nigeria doesn’t need someone with double identity for the job. We need either Sunday Olishe, Emmanuel Amunike or Finidi Jorge.
A man who brings ant-infested wood into his hut should not grumble when lizards begin to pay him homage…!
….If some people can be pushing for a decade-long U17 WC winner to be the next SE coach, why wouldnt U19 coach fancy his own chance too..?
Mind you Manu Garba’s U17 class was a far superb squad, the best ever in Nigeria’s history….they were unbeaten in 90 minutes in over 70 matches, qualified for the U20 AFCON, won it defeating the host in the final, qualified for the U20 WC and the bulk of his players played their football to the highest levels in Europe, yet no one ever mentions him as fitting for even a CHAN coaching job…..Of course he is from the part of Nigeria where good things a never expected to come from.
The NFF has thrown the job open, with the most laughable sort of job requirements Ive even seen for such a top job as that of the coach of the Nigerian national team, so they must be ready to receive all sorts of applications.
My own question is should fellows like Benni McCarthy, Florent Ibengue, Pitso Mosimane all apply together with these ones with empty CVs who call themselves 94 squad, will the NFF have the balls to go for the best hand with demonstrated capacity to succeed…?
I noticed every Nigerian indicating interest in coaching the SE. As far as am concerned, we have not even been able to qualify for the quarter finals in the world cup with a foreign coach. I think we need to show some respect and value our own.
Your local coaches are still struggling to qualify for ordinary CHAN and AFCON, you are talking of World cup quarter finals….LMAOooo. Are you seriously serious…?
Your owns need to earn respect for themselves.
They sit down in the parlours doing nothing, and when the SE job becomes vacant they expect to be considered. I just read that even Amokachi too has applied for the job….LMAOOo….that one that was carrying Sunday Dare’s suitcase upandan masquerading as a presidential adviser on sports for the larger part of the last half decade, not practicing the coaching profession and testing out new coaching ideologies and philosophies……those are the kinds of people you want us to show respect….???
A certain young Beni McCarthy retired from football, when straight to get his coaching badges, looked for a nameless team in his country’s league and won a CUP title, moved from that club to another lowly club and led them to their highest league position in decades, qualified them for the CAF champions league and even led the team to the group stages of the CAF…..all these in his first or 2nd attempts……now he is an assistant coach at a club like Man utd.
Please between Benni McCarthy and Daniel Amokachi or Oliseh or Yobo or even Amunike, who deserves respect….??
Mr Man, respect is earned.
That’s what you get when all you do is fuelled by Vision, determination, an understanding of what needs to be done to get there and collaboration!
We joke with everything around here
The first question all of them must answer as they put in their applications is, have they met the NFF requirements?
The main qualifications for the Super Eagles head coach are:
*Possession of necessary coaching qualifications to lead a national team.
*Proven experience managing football at the highest level.
*A successful track record of leading teams to victories and knowledge of African football.
This one should start put as one of the assistants or as @Chima suggested at U23 or U20 level. Somebody should throw out Bosso already. After his AAG holiday trip with his men, that is.
No now, life is not step by step at all.
Life should be rushed. No time.
New born baby must waka today. No time for crawling. By tomorrow, new born baby must be running. That’s Naija way. Our way.
Let’s just put anybody there. If IPETU MADU is not interested, I’m sure we can find anoda person.
No need to look for the best coach, or spend the money needed to lure the brightest minds to the job. JUST ANYBODY CAN APPLY.
Awon olofo oshi.
Francis, even if the coach meets the said requirements, it’s likely to appoint an interim coach. My question, will the coach be able to churn out good results given such lean frame?
Most of these application writing local coaches from Amunike to Nsien, are not even qualified. That’s the truth. However, one thing about NFF is that it’s always trusting foreign coaches more than local coaches. I remember late Shuibu Amodu qualified the SE for World Cup only for him to be relieved of his position.
What do you think Amodou would have done differently? You believed he would have won the world cup…abi?
He would have certainly done better than backstabber “Baxter” Onigbinde who still owns the honor of Nigeria’s worst outing a quarter of a century later
