Osimhen Knows How To Capitalise On Half Chance –Mourinho

Roma manager, Jose Mourinho has described Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen as a player that knows how to convert half chances in a game.

The Portuguese tactician made this known after the Nigerian international netted the match winner in Napoli’s 1-0 win over Roma in Sunday’s Serie A clash.

Fed with a route-one ball from Mateo Politano, Osimhen wrestled off the holding Chris Smalling before delivering a stunner from the most impossible of angles.

Reacting to Osimhen’s performance, Mourinho lauded him for his ability to take advantage of any opportunity that comes his way.

“We have to be more decisive upfront, what lodges into the statistics are the shots on goal.

“Then I also look at the half opportunities, those that you have to transform into opportunities as Osimhen did,” Mourinho told DAZN after the game.

Personal Life

Born in Nigeria, Osimhen began his senior career in Germany at VfL Wolfsburg in 2017. Following a season and a half at the club, he moved to Belgian side Charleroi on loan in 2018–19, before moving to France at Lille. In 2020, Osimhen transferred to Serie A club Napoli for a club-record fee of €70 million. He won the Serie A Best Young Player award in the 2021–22 season.

Osimhen won the Golden Boot award at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup, which Nigeria won. He made his senior international debut in June 2017 and played at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

@AK47P, don’t you think Musa and Ighalo are past their best?

      • They said Ighalo and Musa are SE’s best attackers and they should be picked ahead of anyone….. Now suddenly they are no longer our best but an inexperienced osimhen who does not know football…… Thank God all this is playing out for us to know that there are many enemies within……. They only bring advices that will rock the boat of the Nigeria national team…… They hate the success of the Nigeria national team so they always jump to support mediocrity whenever it’s associated with the national team…..They feel pain whenever they see young budding Nigerian talent doing well and you can notice the pain from their cold comment whenever a young Nigerian talent is making Waves in Europe……. Many fans jump into their band wagon without looking deep into their comments to know who they really are……As for me and many fans who read between the lines we know them very well….. please fans here should never take them seriously because some of them might even be bitter Ghanaian or South African fans masquerading here to mock themselves……Open your eyes

I think Osimhen will be in near time World class for Super Eagles; SE have been lacking superstar since Nwankwo Kanu and Jay Jay Okocha and Victor Ikpeba or Amuniki have missed SE football, Osimhen also will be just like Ett’o , if he tranfered for example to Real Madrid or Bayern Munchen or Manchester United he would be just like Ett’o; SE now are benefiting from this great player for their coming entitlements.

    • @Hassan Tia Chop knuckle Bro. I love your Reasoning great minds think alike. Unlike some mediocre minds on this platform. Grease dey your Head Joor!
