Owen Oseni has expressed his delight after making history with the Super Eagles at the 2026 Unity Cup in London, Completesports.com reports.
The Plymouth Argyle striker made his maiden appearance for the Super Eagles in the Unity Cup semi-final victory over the Warriors of Zimbabwe last week Tuesday.
Oseni came on as a second-half substitute in the thrilling encounter, replacing Samson Tijani in the 77th minute.
The midfielder also made a late appearance off the bench in Nigeria’s victory over the Reggae Boyz of Jamaica in their final game of the tournament.
Oseni Celebrates Super Eagles Debut
The 23-year-old made history as the first Irish-born player to play for the three-time African champions.

The forward reflected on the memorable achievement, describing it as a proud moment in his career after helping Nigeria secure success in the tournament.
“To be the first Irish kid to play for the Super Eagles will be a moment me and my family will cherish forever. What a week with the brothers,” Oseni wrote on Instagram.
Ready For Next Challenge
Despite being born in Ireland, Oseni has chosen to represent Nigeria at international level.
The former Derby County star is also in Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming friendlies against Poland and Portugal.
The Super Eagles will face Poland at the PGE Narodowy Stadium (also known as the National Stadium) in Warsaw on Wednesday.
Éric Chelle’s side will be up against former European champions Portugal at the Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa, Leiria on Wednesday, 10 June.
