Fulham picked up their first point of the season but were denied a victory by Billy Sharp’s penalty.
Aleksandar Mitrovic missed a penalty and then gave one away after Ademole Lookman had given the visitors a 77th-minute lead.
Mitrovic, usually so reliable from the spot, hit the top of the bar following a handball by former QPR defender Jack Robinson.

Lookman made no mistake with a fine strike after collecting Tom Cairney’s pass.
However, after VAR showed that Mitrovic had fouled Robinson, Sharp tucked away the resulting penalty with five minutes remaining.
And to compound Mitrovic’s misery, the striker missed a chance to restore Fulham’s lead when he headed Lookman’s injury-time cross wide of the target.

Ngwa, the “invite him group” make u na come out, e e don set…..
Hahaha… hahahaha. No be today broda. Even while Lookman dey siddon look for Leipzig, I dey see him talent just dey boil like a volcano ready to explode. Please and please, England should just be kind enough to leave this boy for us Oo. We dash them Saka, Eze, Totori, Tammy. Haba..
I watched Sheffield vs Fulham match this afternoon with a rapt attention to the Nigerian contingent on the line-up(Lookman,Aina and Adarabioyo). Wallahi those guys aforementioned really impressed me. They didn’t make my time useless. Lookman na bomb! That guy is naturally born talented player. With my due observation on him, by the time FIFA finally approve his switch he will surely become an asset to the super eagles team.
With the avalanche of wingers in the supers eagles set up these days I will play lookman from no.10.
I am personally looking forward to a super eagles line-up in the following manner.
OKOYE
AINA. AKPOGUMA. BALOGUN. ZAIDU
NDIDI. ARIBO.
CHUKWUEZE. LOOKMAN. EJUKE.
OSIMEHN.
Lookman is a gifted player right from his days at Charlton Athletic, where he cut the eye. He’ll be a great addition to the SE if his clearance sails through. What marks out from many Nigerian wingers is his ability to hit the ball from a distance. Not many SE eagles wingers can strike from outside the 18yard box. He’s just a gifted player with playing pattern similar to Barcelona teenage sensation, Fati.
Lookman is quick, fast and a delight to watch anytime. At such young age of 21, he has a great future with Nigeria. More goals from Lookman
NFF should hurry fifa to finalize lookman documents so that he can play nations cup qualifers next month, if England carry this guy, una go regret am.
Good line up @ Abdul. But watching Osigwe yesterday for fc Lugano, I think Okoye surely has a big deceent fight to manage.
Good line up Abdul. I believe u have no vested interest in any of the players in your line up. Lolzzzz
Ejuke scores again for cska moscow.
Chukwueze starts for Villarreal.
Ademola lookman is a versatile and reliable player. He derserve Invitation to super eagles. He is intelligent, courageous and his finishing is one of his asset. Invitation to super eagles should be based on performance at club level, relevance to the team and need to encourage competition in the team. Nfa please expedite the process at fifa for him to play for Nigeria.
abdul I like your idea, but for me I won’t replace lookman for iwobi and I will switch the formation to a 3-5-2 dropping aribo, ejuke and Sammy
mine is
okoye
akpoguma balogun ajayi
ola ndidi etebo iwobi sanusi
iheanacho victor
I can give you my analysis if you want
@Kingston,I like your line up.I would love an attack spearheaded by Iheanacho and Osimhen that would be mad!both can shoot very well and very good at scoring goals.
The gaffer is spoilt for choice when the nationality switch of Fulham’s Adarabioyo and Lookman,Reading Ejaria,Udokhai as well that of others comes through. The aformentioned players are very good players and their availability for selection can only make our team to be the envy of many.
Meanwhile,in the last international break we struggled because we lack options in the midfield. It was hard losing three regular midfielders to injuries and this affected the teams performances. The solution to this going forward is to have as many quality options as possible in that department because the midfield seems to be the spine of every team.
Nobody’s talking about Ejaria. Seems many don’t know the quality he’s made off. One of the gifted midfield players I’ve seen after Mikel Obi. I think if Ejaria gets clearance with his form he’ll be unstoppable.
His ability to deliver range of passes and get on goals is a great strength.
onachu and desser may be dropped before afcon, the reason is simple – onachu clearly, though a good striker (watch his games and check his stats at whoscored), does not fit in the playing style of SE. while desser did well last season but isn’t performing this season even though he is playing in a league with not much quality.
the player that are fighting for their place are playing in better leagues and are still doing well – first is simy nwankwo. the guy scored 20 goals in Seria b (this league is equal to Belgium league) and has scored two goals already. he has better experience than the two genk forwards, especially since musa may also be dropped we will therefore need simy experience.
secondly, akpom, maja and terrem moffi all play in better leagues and have better form probably except for maja when compared to onachu. Rohr has so many players at his disposal that Nigeria may keep trying out new players till afcon. the reason for this is simply because of the lack of consistency from our players, so we should stop comparing SE to the likes of Spain and France because of players value.
also, lookman has stir problems for our wingers. musa may be dropped if not because of his captaincy. this will mostly affect ejuke, as good performance in Russia league is not the same with good performance in English league.
our fullbacks also have an handful on their plate. if you were to pick just two players among these five who would you should (also consider their league) – ola aina (my first choice, besides playing in the epl), sanusi (Nigeria own alaba incarnate- my choice left back), ebuehi (would have ranked him higher than ola aina if he was playing at benfica), Kingsley ehizibue and Collins (surely has lost his place)
all this in mind I wonder why eberechi eze is still delaying to play for SE? does he think he will just stroll in there and get a shirt? as a winger he may not even be called, as a no10 he will be behind iwobi and still fight ejaria for a sub role (though sincerely speaking I really love eze and his skills) who we really need now is felix udoikhai. this guy with tosin adarabioyo and awaziem will be our future 3 back man
I really love Nigeria! this is really a good time to be a super eagles fan!
… @Kingston…Guy if na joke stop calling Awaziem. If truth be told, Awaziem is not fast and hence grabs and foul opposition players easily in dangerous areas. He, Awaziem, also has Ola Aina and Ebuehi who are better technical and faster players ahead of him at right back position. Of course he is not a known left-foot player so he can’t go near Collins and Sanusi on the left. With the coming of Adarabioyo, Uduokhai, and Torunarigha… There is no more place for Umeruo, Awaziem, and even Ekong at Central defence… I will still permit Semi Ajayi some games in CB when regulars are not available and because he can do some contingency duties at DM in case of injury to key DM midfield players… Ajayi will displace Ekong in a stable team setup. Regardless anyone who is captain or assistant captain… With the talents soon to flood the team… We must have to kiss a difficult goodbye to some former regular players as team selection should purely be based on ability, merit and form.
@kingston.Who said Musa cannot be dropped because of his captaincy? He better sort out his club situation fast and start playing otherwise, he will find himself out and he will not be missed to be honest. When Jordan Henderson was struggling at Liverpool, he was dropped to sort out his club form despite being England captain
… @Toni. Musa has to slowly be allowed and excused from the team. He plays in a weak league for money which is good at this stage of his career but that’s not a competitive league and others playing more serious football in more competitive leagues are increasing becoming more deserving of a squad place than Ahmed Musa. He has served well and we should thank him and give truly younger players a chance. Musa should be nothing less than 35 years now in all honesty.
You are as good as your last game. Musa won a penalty and assisted the only goal in his last game in the SE despite not playing competitively for close to a month. So far he continues to deliver the goods where the younger ones are failing, he will continue to feature till he is befittingly and respectfully eased out.
@Dr.Drey… I understand your point based on our latest games. Somehow in effectiveness I don’t see how Samuel Kalu is ahead of Musa. Though both are good players, Musa towers above him in team play… however Musa should be trying to move to Europe by this seasons end, especially after AFCON 2021 to play in better competition as we begin to turn to Qatar 2022 world up. In the end I believe we will have 7 defenders(3CB, 4FB) 6 midfielders (2DM, 2AM & 2CM) and 7 Forwards (4 wingers, 3 Centre Forwards) and lastly 3 goalkeelkeepers… Making 23 players for any tournament. We should then have a pool of a further 12 – 15 wild card players who will be in a continuously updating list of pool of reserves or standby depending on those in the main 23 who will loose form and those in the 12 – 15 reserves who will pick form.
Paul Onuachu is on target again, picking up from where he stopped before the international break.
Someone once said it on this platform that Onuachu is not a national team player, he’s rather proving really to be more of a club player actually.
Right from England U20 to his period at Everton, Lookman has always been a fantastic player.
His career will boom with the Super Eagles
Meanwhile, Jose Moriranwo has just thrown away a 3 GOAL LEAD at home to West Ham. Funny game. Tottenham were up 3 nil inside the first 15 mins. West Ham grabbed 3 goals inside the last 10 mins to draw level. Sorry, no way for you Jose!
@Pompei…….”Jose Moriranwo”………hahaha lol!!! You mean say na look master Mourinho come do today against WestHam. Premier league this season is really gonna be very interesting, no big teams can simply stroll to victory easily again until final whistle. But I really gbadun that Westham last minute screamer
Dr Banks, na look the Jose dey look for bench ooo. Jose dey look like teddy bear. E dey like film for em eye.
Jose eye don see something! Hehehehehe! He has been like this in recent years, hence the nickname MORIRANWO!
I dey like to yab Jose because Jose too no get respect for em elders, especially Baba Ijebu (Arsene Wenger). Na em make me sef dey yab am wella whenever he messes up! Lol!
Baba ijebu..I no go laff tire.
Jimmy my guy, nice talk but if you read what Toni said about Awaziem, he said Awaziem is part of the 3 future CBS. I personally don’t know if these players you mentioned that are ahead of Awaziem, Omeruo, Ekong, Semi have filed for switch of nationality ( except if you have it in good authority that they have filed the switch), talking about them displacing what we presently have is premature but we can wish oooo lol, having those guys u mentioned will be gr8 for the SE for sure. However, I get your point. Me personally will pick Ekong over Semi any day, Semi doesn’t look strong to me, even Adarabioyo sef tho skilled , he doesn’t look strong, African strikers go eat am for breakfast. Yeah if we play against European opposition he and Semi could try but not African opposition. I don’t think Semi and Adarabioyo are fast players, imagine Mane or Salah one on one with them. I like both of them, don’t get me wrong and their presence will beef up the team.
I like Kingston’s post too, but I won’t pick Akpom ahead of Sadiq tho or ahead of Simmy. Moffi is relatively unknown at least to me, not sure how many forumites here know about him (I could be wrong tho).
i meant if you read Kingstons post in its entirety
@greenturf you spoke well
that’s why sincerely speaking, removing all bias, we need eberechi eze and ejaria. we truly are lucky for snatching aribo. I really hope that nwakali, alhassan Ibrahim, and azubuike gain form while Frank onyeka turns to a national team player and not be like onauchu
our midfield needs boosting.
lol nice one @jimmyball, but I’m being honest and serious. when I talk about awaziem I refer him as a Centre back. that’s why I placed him in a three man defense. you can’t deny the guy’s quality – has experience playing at both la liga and ligue 1. his tackling ability is second only to ndidi (in my opinion, remember afcon) this guy was also nominated for his team best player of the year.
and please someone should help me beg Paul onauchu to translate his club form and bring it to SE. we need the guy that plays for genk
he will bring a dimension to our attack like no other
I have said it before, Paul Onuachu is not a bad player, but simply does not fit into the current stlye of the Super Eagles. And when Sprots Junalist Mumi Alao asked Genet Rohr if he is going to adjust his style to suit the giant striker before the Algeria matach. Genet Rohr spoke emphatically that he is not willing to adjust his style to any one palyer, but instead the players are supposed to adjust to suit the current style of play.
Don’t forget that Paul scored for the Super Eagles on his debut in few seconds of the match against Egypt which was the only goal we score in the match. When asked how is got the goal, he said the goal came based on the plan they had with the coach.
So that means, Genet Rohr knows, how to get goals from Paul, but, since he has now cultivated a different style of play which favors most of his current crop of players and are already getting used to it. He does not want to disrupt the team chemistry upfront to switch to Pual Onuachu’s stlye. And remember his main striker is Victor for now, Paul is only being considered as a backup. So the main purpose of bringing Paul Onuachu to the Algeria friendly was to see if he could adjust to the currents style of the Eagles, but he couldn’t. He also couldn’t fit in during the Nations cup. But Ighalo florished with this Genet Rohr pattern and so also Victor, so he is not willing to change it because of Paul.
So I know he will score more goals for his club, maybe over 20 this season but, I doubt if Genet Rohr will call him again because there are several other options who can suit Rohr current style. Kelachi , Dessers and even Maja though not yet tested.
Honestly reading lots of post here, just confirm, that this sudden boom of talents available for selection for our SE is getting everyone totally confused on who to play. Not sure whether to celebrate or become concerned. Gernot Rohr; not the best time to envy your job. We your supporters will only just keep trying to support you though.
Hahahahaha @Glory you really made me laugh out my ass. You are very right. Everybody has become confused and we are now throwing around countless names include one Moffi guy. Which one is Moffi again? Lol. Sad part is that all these our local champions are a bunch of average inconsistent players – hot today cold tomorrow. So u really dont know what to make of them, theres no certainty that u will get any level of consistency. Well we cant give up lets continue to support them.
I want to ask a question – in a team like the super eagles where we are likely going to be playing with two strikers which means that the slot for wingers will be limited to just three at most, if you where in the shoes of Rohr who would you dropped between
Samuel chukwueze
Samuel kalu
Moses Simon
Ahmed Musa
chidera ejuke
ademola lookman
remember the quality of all these players, not just this year alone but the previous years
I said this because of our inclination to easily attack Rohr for his selection
super eagles have a future but this future cannot involve everybody
The coach cannot drop any of the players you listed above, reasons they are part of the team so the ones performing better will always get the nod in every game.Like we all know competition makes every team better,so the more options we have the better it is for the super eagles.
@ Kingston, I will drop all of them.
I’ll call Sarenren Bazee,(If fit),
I’ll call Olise(He plays from the wings this season), I will call arokodare (even though he only played once this season) at least, he now plays in germany then I’ll call Osayi Samuel, I can even call Ojo or keanan Bennets(Cardiff new signing).
Sebi u all want names ni.
If these ones no perform, I still get more.
I support your post @glory.
if onauchu in this his form was playing for SE during afcon 2013 his place is surely guaranteed
I think we should all be concerned and at the same time happy
varieties of quality players is what make big teams big
Hahaha haha. Honestly, if it had been 2013, Onuachu will be reporting late to Camp and still being a regular. How sad for him? This team is packed full. Broda I watched FC Lugano yesterday and truly saw the real deal of a goal keeper for our SE. But bro I no wan too shout here because I admit, I have got a little bit of bias for Okoye over others.
I dont think I will play Awaziem as a CB or as a CB three. We have tried that before and it didn’t work out. He is a rugged defender who isnt easily beaten or dribbled past, he played very well at the last afcon. But it seems he has lost form. This made his tackles harsh and reckless during the friendly. If defenders like uduokai and torunigha join the Super Eagles, I see him being dropped along with omerua from the team.
Somehow I see Ejaria more likely playing for the Super Eagles than Eze. Either way any of them are welcome for creativity.
If kingsley ehizibue joins the team then Aina and Tyrone will have to contend with him. He will be coming from a German league and he is very fast, if he has a decent cross that will knock Tyrone out, because for all his speed and defensive abilities, tyronnes crosses are poor.
Ahmed musa’s presence wont allow some players be part of the team. There is no space for lookman and ejuke on the team if musa is there.
Coach rohr wont drop chukwueze, kalu and simon unless they are injured or loose form drastically.
Attack should comprise of osimhen, iheanacho, desser.
MY LINE UP
OKOYE
KINGSLEY AKPOGUMA LEON SANUSI
NDIDI(AJAYI) ARIBO
IWOBI. IHEANACHO. EJUKE
OSIMHEN
Kingsley ehizibue provided assist!!
No one is even talking about a dazzling left footed midfielder like Aribo by the name Michael Olise.
I will be very sad if we lose that boy.
I don’t think he needs any change of association as he has only played friendly match for France.
For super eagles to be a fearsome team ,we need technical midfielders that can soak pressures, create chances and also score goals.
Rohr must Not forget this boy.
True talk bro, if I were GR I will cap tie many players i swear, even if na just 5 mins dem play. That will be good for 9ja even if the coaches don’t invite them again. Some of these players should be cap tied for the future even if they dont do too well in camp. That is being strategic in my view. I think there is a 16yr old (ugochukwu) in France too that plays in lique 1. Am sure GR is aware of him. Cap tie these guys in my view and damn the consequences. These guys look very promising, Eduardo Camavinger is only 17 and him done play for Les Blues for 2 or 3 games. Although he is a regular for Rennes. If after these 2 games in November, if we have already qualified, for the remaining nations cup qualifier i go cap plenty players so we nor go dey fight other countries when them blow. I nor no ooo but if we been approach Eze wen him start for QPR maybe him for no dey delay now. GR just need to tell NFF say fir the remaining matches faster we have already qualified is only for testing players and that the results shouldn’t matter (even though the intent is not to lose). I mean no matter wetin, even if GR field in an experimental team, we no go lose against Lesotho and Benin na. There are some players wen rain or shine we know se dem go dey plane to Cameroon once we qualify, so cap tie these guys and test fringe players, finish. Just a thought. Again na d coach decision.
God bless you sportman
I just checked stats between ovie ejaria and Michael olise, and olise is doing better this season. this guy must be good
Please Rohr, follow closely what these Nigerian fans are talking about this Sunday afternoon (US eastern ). A lot of what is being said here are meaningful and positives. Thank you all folks for your thoughtful contributions on this treads. It has been wonderful really.
even this Cardiff guy on loan from Liverpool ojo scared a wonderful goal yesterday.. He should be monitored as well.. In midfield there is this Amos guy from qpr, he can play defensive midfield as well, I don’t think he needs FIFA clearance, he can cover for ndidi
Thumbs up Ololo. The Cardiff guy na proper baller. This selection headache is a good one for Rohr to have. It is better than having little quality to work with. Thum
Well it’s good to know that Lookman, Aina and Adarabioyo are doing great at Fulham. It will strengthen them towards building a great team such as the SE. For Lookman , he’s been a promising player . I hope NFF work on his allegiance to the national team. And I hope to see more of his skills on the field .
Absolutely @Olusegun.Very well supported. It will strengthen the Super Eagles. All ‘deserving’ players need to be included.
Mehn, after watching our super eagles stars this week, I would say, the only thing that can stop us from reaching the final of the AFCON, qualifying for the world cup and reaching the semi final of the world cup is coaching.
I wish we had someone like Seedorf and Kluivert as coach I really wish. Seedorf and Hector Cupert has been begging for the super Eagles job now for a long time. Two coaches with attacking pedegree…
There is still a long time, so injuries and form can definitely weigh in. But see the list of super eagles players at the moment

Also Josh Onomah
@Edoguy,It’s easy to name many players but looking at that long list unfortunately some of them are not very talented though we celebrate all this players.
The top teams we are bound to face in the African playoffs have amazing talents as well who are equally good and some of this countries may have even better team cohesion.
So we should slow down on our enthusiasm and expectations though the future looks bright.
@ Edoguy, it seems like we share thesame thought ooh! maybe na bcos we come from thesame place lol, if not for the love i have for football and supereagles, i for don bymyself, withmyself, I and I for don divide Naija tey tey, infact before i go divide her i go first flog her yansh 60 strokes for the 60 years of heartbreak, failure, inconsistenscy, non improvement, bad infrastructures, unpaid salaries, lack of energy, lack of good educational system, lack of good religiouse system, human rituals, lazy youths, corrupt population, infact for being a yeye girl friend for so long. but still on still Godbless Naija, and i love everypart of my country people i cant afford to lose anypart. Please lets stay together as ONE
some one said Nigeria should cup tired many players so that we can have many options, Udoakai and other uncup defenders needed, we have seen omerou and awuziem finish, we need new defenders to replace them. we really need more guys in midfield, see my people, Africa players are rugged and style of play is rugged too, world cup is coming and is not a childs play, we need to get to semis like ghana and senegal, not only appear at world cup and reach second round and come back, we are not supper power in Africa today because ghana and senegal we first appear at world cup don pass us, even reach semis, is like we will protest end sars or end NFf because coruption is too much.
Ghana and Senegal only reached the quarterfinals along with Cameroon. No African country ever reached the semifinals of the WorldCup. However Nigeria remains the only African country to make it out of the group stage 3 times.
Good talk Daniel. Make we cap tie this players so that they can become ‘deserving’ players. Lolzzzz
That Luke Amos guy is a good player i have to say. He plays a little like Thiago Alcantara, someone who isn’t scared of asking for the ball and making the right play (pass, tackle, initiate attack, defend very good). Wow he and that Olise guy, damn, leather dey our blood mehn.
The reason why I dey se mek we cap tie these guys, maybe not for this AFCON or even worldcup sef (tho if tried and they make the team why not?) but for the future. What happens when Ndidi, Etebo, and co retires who are the replacements. As the saying goes, if u don’t plan then you plan to fail. This is where if we had an u23 coach, he can be talking to GR and NFF about players he will need for Olympic qualifiers. It will be easy for GR to convince these guys than any local coach. Once the u23 coach identifies foreign based players (note am not advocating for foreign born players to persecute the qualifiers as their clubs might not release then) then the NFF can start by talking to dia parents to see where their heart lies as regards to their sons. Once the parents give the go ahead to talk to dia sons, GR can after watching them for some time then approach them and discuss the SE project. Once GR package the SE brand properly most of them go jump at the opportunity to wear the green and white. Once they start making waves in the premier league it will be more difficult. Now that they are relatively obscure, this is the time to approach them.
Just a suggestion.
Good talk @ Proudly9ja, well supported. But I don’t think any bald head will enjoy reading your post as it could be quite threatening. They need caps and if Nigeria and other countries start capping all players available, there will no caps available to cover dem bald head.
I know. Why leave the caps for bald heads when there are deserving heads to where them. I am with you on this, Mr Pundit.
Look men, Lookman is the real deal. With him and “ebeano” Ejuke, our attack is looking better. I would love to see these two on the wings, harassing our opponents, with Osimhen as the lead striker! And an inform Kalu and Samu are always nice options to have. All our wingers should be encouraged to put crosses in the box. Give Osimhen and other hitmen something to work with.
Michael Olise is a chap I have been talking about quite a bit in recent weeks. Abundantly gifted midfielder. He checks all the boxes. And he is also a freekick specialist. My only issue with him is that he is slight of build, being only 18 yrs of age. Having said that, he will grow, and get stronger. Even with the frail appearance, he is still good enough to start SE games, in my opinion. Whatever needs to be done to get him into the SE fold should be expedited asap. He should be in the squad to face S/Leone if possible. With midfield options of Ndidi, Aribo, Iwobi, Etebo, Ejaria and Olise, we have a situation where everybody is good enough to start. Rohr now has the luxury to rotate players, and keep them fresh for games. We need to accomplish this in the defense and also in the attack. This is how you win tournaments. Having subs that are just as good as the starting players.
Nff and Rohr should try and give us Lookman, Luke Amos, Bannet, kelvin Bassey and Michael Olise. Rohr must try and cap tied them for the future.
