British tennis star Emma Raducanu has pulled out from this week’s Miami Open as she continues her recovery from a recent illness.
This marks the second occasion in three years Raducanu has withdrawn from the tournament, having previously pulled out in 2024 due to a lower back problem.
The setback will frustrate her, particularly after recently progressing to the third round at Indian Wells, before suffering a 6-1, 6-1 defeat to Wimbledon finalist Amanda Anisimova.

The British number one became unwell while playing in the Middle East last month and is still suffering with post-viral symptoms. She had a first-round bye for the event at Miami Gardens in Florida from March 17 to March 29.
Charlie Eccleshare, The Athletic’s tennis reporter, confirmed Raducanu’s withdrawal from the upcoming event on Monday.
He said: “Emma Raducanu out of Miami Open as she recovers from lingering post-viral symptoms, after picking up the illness in the Middle East last month.
“Another tough break as she looks to build momentum in stop-start 2026.”
