Rodgers Willing To Sell Iheanacho To Sign Edouard

Rodgers Willing To Sell Iheanacho To Sign Edouard

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is ready to sell Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho to sign Odsonne Edouard from Celtic in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that Celtic value Edouard at £35 million, and that Leicester are planning to Iheanacho for £20 million to fund a move for the Frenchman this summer.

Rodgers worked with Edouard when e was in charge of Celtic, and the former Liverpool manager will know all about the former Paris Saint-Germain striker.

The 22-year-old scored 28 goals in all competitions for the Hoops this season.

Iheanacho has made seven starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for Leicester so far this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists in the process.

While Leicester could end up in the Champions League next season, Celtic are aiming to make it 10 league titles in a row in 2020-21, and that could be a huge incentive for Edouard to stay at Celtic Park.

Kele nwanne, gbawa door sharrp sharrp! Go to a club that will give u enough game time and make them regret ever selling you or beg for your services just like ighalo did. Just keep your head up high and rediscover ur form. All you need is enough game time and your are good to go. I think God is trying to take u to your spring board that would lift u to greater heights. I’d suggest u move to France, it seems a more favorable ground than the English league which I believe hardly favours Nigerian strikers. Do not insist to stay at Leicester, just accept it in Good faith.

This may be a blessing in disguise. Go to a club that will give you regular playing time, and get back to your old self. Time to bid Leicester good bye.

  • Newcastle united will be a perfect destination for Kel.

  • Something in me always believed that Brendan Rodgers only pumps Iheanacho up so that his market value can appreciate and then sell him on. I don’t think deep inside he will ever believe in Iheanacho.

But I may be totally wrong.

Whichever way, Iheanacho has proven himself as a veritable striker sharp enough to cut it at the highest level.

I think he should cash in on his own new found form and move to a club where he is definitely guaranteed playing time. Iheanacho is too good to be playing second fiddle.

Good riddance to bad rubbish…! As if we didnt tell him to leave since January already. But people who say they “know” went about heaping praises on Brendan Rodgers and telling us Kele leaving LCFC is something that “SHOULD NOT AND WILL DEFINITELY NOT HAPPEN and will be their Key player a Star, it is his destiny.” They almost told us Kele was the worst player on earth until Rodgers came in and turned him to Cristiano Messi….Rodgers this…Rodgers that…Rodgers knows kelechi is now fully back….from now on Rodgers will start kelechi in every game…bla bla bla. They even said we should mark their words. Same Rodgers is who had been planning to discard Kele since last summer. Only God knows for how much longer Kele is/was planing to play 2nd fiddle to a Jamie Vardy who is not looking like slowing down or outrightly retiring even in the next 2-3 seasons. If he like make e nor comot leicester.

    • Dr Drey, I am really happy for Iheanacho in the way he has turned his career around this season. If he has any modicum of sense about him, he will not relent on his own fantastic efforts.

Just look at a sample of what some Leicester City fans are reportedly saying about this transfer news; they (now) rate Iheanacho highly:

1st Fan:”I would sell (Demarai) Gray and (Islam) Slimani before selling Iheanacho. He made a lot of progress this year. Disappointing, but Edouard would be a great singing!”

2nd Fan:”I would rather keep Iheanacho and buy Edouard too.”

3rd Fan:”Edouard has been scoring goals in a third-rate League like signing a player from League One or Two – a big risk really,”

        @ Deo
Rodgers has been singing the praise of this Edouard guy since last December, which means he’s been a firm admirer of the dude. If Edouard eventually comes in, that makes the pecking order look like this; Vardy, Edouard, Perez, Gray, Kele, Slimani (who remain).

If Kele likes, he shouldn’t cash on his ‘turning the corner’ now that his market value is receiving some breathe of the holy spirit, He should strap himself to LCFC’s bench till clubs start placing cowries on his head. At the age of almost 25 he should be playing week-in-week out since he’s already approaching his peak as a striker. He has just 2 more years to peak before the cycle starts heading down south, and he’d better make hay while the san is still shinning.

He who has ears let him hear.

Iheanacho has carved a niche for himself by displaying his wares to a secure salability. He shouldn’t have any qualms or apprehensions about his club managers plans, because he has created a role of opportunity for playing very well and won’t be short of suitors.

  • KC Iheanacho should leave lister but remain in the top 10 clubs in the premiership.
He should not go to a relegation prone club like Newcastle etc.
Be bold and believe in yourself , be angry at your under achievement and be motivated by what Chukwueze and Osimehn is doing.

  • So why keep him till now. Kelechi seek for champions league football. Don’t insist on epl you can be the best in other league if you work hard.
