Rufai Takes Dodo Mayana Soccerthon Project To Kwara; Visits Nigeria Pillar of Sports.

Peter Rufai, a former Super Eagles goalkeeper and captain, arrived Ilorin Thursday for the Kwara leg of his pet project Dodo Mayana Soccerthon, Completesports.com reports.

The project, according to Rufai, is aimed at discovering talents from the grassroots with a bid to push them to national and international heights, career wise.

Completesports.com understands that shortly on arrival in Ilorin, Dodo Mayans, as the legendary goalkeeper is fondly called, paid a courtesy call on the Nigeria Pillar of Sports Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike JP, at his residence.

Rufai told his host that he was using Dodo Mayana Soccerthon program as an avenue to give back to the Nigerian society, what he has benefitted from Nigeria as a nation.

He equally commended the Nigeria Pillar of Sports for his contributions towards Sports development in the country.

He also took time to appreciate the support of the Kwara State Football Association chairman, Abdullahi Musa-Thuraya, for his warmth welcome and support since he came in to Kwara state.

“I’m really happy coming here,” Rufai said.

Agu-Ejidike expressed his willingness to partner with Dodo Mayana Foundation in its drive to unearth talents that would do the nation proud, like Rufai himself.

“We appreciate your efforts and I must say the office of the Pillar of Sports will at all times support and partner with your foundation in the drive to catch them young, groom and develop them for national and international glories,” Agu-Ejidike said.
