Super Eagles and Everton forward Alex Iwobi has been included in the Premier League Team of the Week.
Iwobi was included in the Team of the Week compiled by England legend Alan Shearer and published on the Premier League Twitter handle on Tuesday.
Iwobi has been impressive for Everton so far and was instrumental in their first win in the English topflight this campaign.
The former Arsenal player set up his teammate Neal Maupay, who netted the only goal in the 1-0 win against West Ham at Goodison Park at the weekend.
It was Iwobi’s third assist in the last four goals scored by Everton in all competitions.
Against West Ham he had 74 touches, made 34 passes in final third, 13 final third entries, won possession eight times, made three clearances and won three duels.

Also, he had three touches inside West Ham box, had two shots and created two chances.
Among other players who were included in the Team of the Week are Manchester City trio Kevin de Bruyne, Jack Grealish, Ruben Diaz Arsenal stars Granit Xhaka, William Saliba, Gabriel and Heung-Min Son of Tottenham Hotspur.
Iwobi is currently in the Super Eagles camp in Constantine ahead of next Tuesday’s friendly with Desert Foxes of Algeria.

I will forever criticize all the armchair sports journalist both in the print and electronic media in Nigeria. All they do is go to the internet and copy what their counterparts in Europe published. Some of them even went as far as saying Iwobi is not a footballer and that he is just lucky to be where he is right now.
Iwobi had a dip in form for some times but it was not enough for us Nigerians to join mostly English press to tear him apart after all he is our own and he dished England to play for Nigeria. I have always maintained that Iwobi is a very talented player , we have to remember that he represented England at the under age levels and he went on to arsenal’s junior team where he excelled and got promoted to the senior team by Arsene Wenger Himself and he featured Iwobi in almost all the matches Arsenal played under him before his departure. How can such a player be untalented over night? Please, let us protect our players
