Simon: We Will Go All Out For A Win Against Guinea -Bissau

Moses Simon says the Super Eagles are determined to win their final group game at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations against Guinea-Bissau, reports Completesports.com.

The Super Eagles booked their passage to the next round of the competition courtesy of a 3-1 win against Sudan on Saturday.

A draw against the Djurtus will be enough for the three-time champions to maintain top spot in the group.

“Every game is important for us and we will take each game step by step,” Simon declared.

“We will give our best against Guinea-Bissau because the coach will not accept anything aside from victory.

“Also, anyone who is selected for that game will prove his worth and we will go all out for victory.”

  • Eguaveon should select an entire first eleven because the bench is Rich with hungry players who want to make a name too……..If our second eleven manage to defeat Equitoria Guinea then it will strike fear and intimidation in the mind of other teams in the tournament…….The goal keeper should be Uzoho…….the defense should be Ebuehi,Ndah, ajayi,Collins…….the midfield should be Onyeka, Nwakali,Musa, olayinka……the attack should be sodiq, onyekuru……. This team can beat EG and it would make sense because everyone will respect us for using second eleven to defeat an Afcon team and they would fear what our first eleven will be capable of doing.

Akp Where you put iwobi bcos he is definetely starting that match

My only objection is that Okoye should man the post. He needs to build up experience for the oncoming war.

Ndah that cannot hold his own against ordinary chan team of Mali, and someone that cannot go straight two matches without conceding in South Africa league should start against EG. Nwakali that start for a relegated lower division side and always kill the tempo of our game anytime he is introduce should start against victory hungry tasting EG side. Hmmmmm, OK we side dey look

    • This was the same way you did before Madagascar game that backfire and till today that music never stop from u na mouth whenever you wanted criticised that man. They even add it to his CV that he lost to Madagascar lol.

AKP, bro please we shouldn’t underestimate EG, this EG team may be our toughest opponent so far. Egypt was lucky to beat them, we should approach the match with the same intensity and confidence we used against the Egyptians

    I meant Guinea Bissau

  • Jay Okocha is trying to downplay the efforts of Awoniyi to promote his nephew Alex Iwobi, but Iwobi was given his chances and he flopped it in the matches against Egypt and Sudan. Just as he usually does things in all the clubs he has played for. The coaches know who is who and their performance during training. Awoniyi has been doing well in place of our absence players. Hands off any nepotism and politics.

    • Stop it already. Did you read the explanations he gave. He was actually gingering Awoniyi to step up and do better bcos he believes he can do much better. How that turned into Okocha trying to run him down baffles me. Pls read the full story including the context. You guys can be annoying gosh !

Why u dey reason like this ? Common haba, i dont know when iwobi and awoniyi start to play the same role

Eguaveon explained that Ihenacho plays behind Awoniyi. That sounds like a false no 9 to me. Simon has been the left winger who drops back to add another body to that midfield; and runs effectively to open up the right side of defence of opponent. Awoniyi has greater physicality and presses upfront far more effectively than Iwobi. If the latter replaces the former, the set-up changes. Let’s see what Coach Eguaveon would do about Olayinka who from the clips I’ve seen about him, would fit better into current set-up as the no 9.

We should not forget that the reserve team did as well as the starting team in our only friendly pre tournament game, and that during training the 2nd set were as good as the 1st. Hoping Awakiem is fit enough for EG match; I really rate him. Maybe Iwobi will play as the false no 9, although where would Captain Musa play? I’d like to see Onyekuru, who apparenty has been training very well, and Ejuke man the wings. Or maybe Iwobi can partner Onyeka in the MF.
Whichever, I know that Eguaveon has an overall strategy and plans each match in conformity to the big picture.

  • An entirely new team to play against guinea will mean eguavoen has confidence in the players. But like someone said we shouldn’t underrate this guineans they are good with the ball and they have physically strong players. They almost snatched a point from Egypt if not for VAR. So yea try some new players but dont necessarily change the complete team.
In some areas where the team wont be too exposed like the attack you can start new players there. In the midfield you can start iwobi then later bring in Nwakali, and in defence you can change one of the central defenders (omerua) and one of the full backs (zaidu) and later change the other two in the second half.
Uzoho can start, he has world cup experience and has been wth the team a while now.
    A good mix could be

    UZOHO

    AINA. TROOST. SEMI. COLLINS
    (TYRONE) (ZAIDU)
    NDIDI. NWAKALI
    (FRANK)
    HENRY. IWOBI. CHIDERA
    (MUSA)
    SADIQ(PETER)

Idiot no matter how you paste it all over the place still doesn’t mean NWAKALI can play more than his level..
