Liverpool manager Arne Slot has disclosed that the Reds must focus on getting results before thinking of title of the Premier League title race.
He made this known after Liverpool lost 3-0 to Manchester City on Sunday at the Etihad Stadium.
Slot, however, was keen to shift the focus away from silverware as he aims to regroup his battered and bruised squad upon their return from international duty.

“It feels there’s too many (losses),” Slot told reporters. “And the last thing I should speak about now is the title race. We should first focus on getting results – result after result after result – before we can even think about that. The reality is that we are eighth.
“I said last season, many times, the best way to judge the league table is, of course, after 38 (games), but the next best thing to judge it is after 19 games (the season’s halfway point), because then you all faced the same opponents.
“And the last thing we should focus on is on the title race. We need to improve. And that’s obvious.”

No, you are not good enough to be Liverpool’s coach. The board splurged on the team, including record EPL transfer for Isak.
But rather than progressing, you’re declining fast. In fact, the EPL win last year was the after-effect of Klopp’s influence, not you. It’s this season we’re now seeing what you’re actually capable of.
How can you leave the league to Arsenal?? Is this not supposed to be between Liverpool and City only? With Arsenal and Chelsea taking their regular 4th and 5th position and Man U mid-table?
With Isak, Ekitike, Writz, and Frimpong additions, Klopp would have been 10 to 15 points ahead by now. We do really miss Jota(RIP) and Diaz though.
Kel, leave arsenal (us) alone. E don Tay us na since 2003. Let us breathe this time lol.
Don’t jinx us please.
Emilokan for the Gunners.
Quite a long time.
Let’s dream on.
Hahaha
Has Slot lost the plot?
It felt like Liverpool were on a revival of sorts especially after the Madrid win. But 2 back to back losses in the Premier League, and it looks like that was a false dawn.
Slot has been using Klopp’s tactics that worked so well when Klopp was there. So it’s likely not a tactical issue. So is it man management? Slot has had some clashes with players, notably Salah of recent. So morale could be a bit low in the dressing room, leading to hesitant performances on the pitch. And they have also been a bit unfortunate, with the rub of the green going against them. It’s up to Slot to steer them back to good results. The fans are getting concerned, and the board’s patience is wearing thin. If he doesn’t get the team firing again soon, his sack may be imminent. Poor performances will usually be punished in England, unlike in Nigeria where mediocrity and incompetence is tolerated and even rewarded. How else do we explain the fact that officials of NFF ONIGBESE and the hapless technical director are still employed, even after woeful, persistent failure? We need to also start getting rid of underperformers DECISIVELY.
