Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem believes the senior national team will get better and stronger under interim coach, Finidi George.
He made this remark after the team’s impressive 2-1 victory against the Black Stars of Ghana in an international friendly on Friday at the Grand Stade de Marrakech, Morocco.

Nigeria’s goals were scored by Cyriel Dessers and Ademola Lookman, with Jordan Ayew finding the net for Ghana.
Speaking after the game, Awaziem noted that the Super Eagles will get better under Finidi ahead of their clash against Mali on Tuesday.
“We aim for a comparable outcome as against Ghana.”
He added, “We will return even stronger, addressing the mistakes from the previous game to build a more robust and effective team.”

I respected Awaziem the day he and Umeruo went to Mindelo to post a five star performance against Cape Verde at home. That same day a certain Kingsley Michael at Bologna posted a five star outing in midfield… Later his rise in Italian football was cut short for a nasty broken fibula injury he copped at club outing… I don’t want to see any foreign mercenary coming to coach us anymore… Pick a well-knowledgeable local coach, give him free hand like you give whities and pay him well. NFF thank me later…
Totally agreed with this view as expressed by this great player of Nigeria. By the time our Boniface is fully recovered from his injury, Oga Finidi will solidify his position as the real manager of super eagle. Let’s Amuneke continues to wait until thy Kingdom come.
Come o, unless I am mistaken, is it not Rohr managing Benin?
If so, how come I haven’t heard “pim” from anyone on here about the fact that his team played a 2-2 stalemate with the current African champions Ivory Coast?
It is unbelievable, that going from all the noise we became accustomed to hearing on here about Rohr this and Rohr that (not that I ever got involved myself personally) as I don’t get involved in that type of talk but nevertheless one would’ve thought going from previous form, that the protagonists of all that would have taken the opportunity to open the floor again in the “to Rohr or not to Rohr” debate ke?
Omo una dey very unpredictable here for this CSN joor o chai! lool
Anyway just in case ya’ll just didn’t know – yes, CIV and Benin played a 2-2 draw today and so what do ya’ll got to say about that?
Oya the floor is open to all of una – both the “for” side and the “against” side – wetin unu get for mind about all this ke?
Oya make pesin catch small laff abeg. hehe
@Field my d**k. Good point on Rohr. W’ll all thank you later. Lol
Thunder fire you and your dick! battyman Hellboy Oloriburuku lool!
Life is not all about gay sex contrary to what a depraved wretch like you might think twat! MUMU
We don’t have a proven home-based coach to manage the eagles get a good foreign coach give 2 years contract and let finidi assist him
Let his Pyscho Dr Dry answer the question for you. Was he not his advocate. Yet to win a game in 9 matches. Shiooor
Dude it was not a question as such and I was not really directing it to anyone in particular – If anything I was actually thinking about that guy who always called him Gen Roar or something like that and even then I was just opening the floor for anyone with a dog in that race all just for fun.
loool, you don’t have to mention names, we sabi them and his ass-lickers who can’t see beyond their nose.
CIV depended a lot on home advantage to win the AFCON. And they were clearly aided in many ways by referees and maybe CAF itself. To me, they are just an average team. If peseiro had got his tactics right in that final, Nigeria would have won resoundingly. So Benin getting a draw against them isn’t a surprise to me.
As for Genot Rohr, advocates stopped talking about him here majorly because Peseiro performed better than he did at the AFCON. And this exactly would have happened if the NFF had gotten it right by appointing a right successor immediatelyhe was given the boot. You can’t bring Eguaveon to replace Genot Rohr and expect people not rue the loss of the latter, escially with the loss of the WC ticket to our bitter rival and the shameful exit at the AFCON in 2021. Rohr was just a reference point until Peseiro showed up to change that narrative with that second place finish at the AFCON. Rohr didn’t achieve that in his 6-year stay.
Papafem no be today those bunch of criminals dey upress us. Yet they’ll be the first to say Nigerians are criminals so every move they make is criminals and referees must blow the whistle. Lol no wonder they remain the most impoverish region on earth since they’re bent on pulling down the flag bearers of blacks.
I am wondering what was it that the SE gained from the Ghana friendly? To test a game plan, playing style, players or build co finance or keep players busy during the FIFA break?
The game play wasrubbish, back passes from opponent’s 18 yard box and players wondering who to give the ball to during build up, to the extent they were losing balls to opponents?
I wonder whether we have mediocre only Ok Nigeris who praise any nonsense play the SE display.
We must banish this character of mediocrity we have internalized to move forward.
Finidi cant lead the SE with this style of play.
Are making any sense? The gh ending your name has infected your bloodstream that you can not even tell.
Babu laakaye. stop watching football its not for you.
I’d agree with u but we’ll both be wrong sha
