Premier League is known all over the world

The English Premier League is perhaps the most recognizable football league in the world. Even casual football fans are sure to know at least some of the clubs and stars who play in this league. The EPL, as it’s known, is actually the most watched league in the world.

The league is known for having great parity, with some amazing clubs that can all compete for league and European titles. They include Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool – just to name a few.

La Liga – The league where many international stars play

Spain’s top-flight league is extremely exciting to watch, too. The league is best known for its two premier clubs – Barcelona and Real Madrid. But, there are other clubs such as Atletico Madrid that are always creeping right behind them.

The league lost some pretty big stars in recent years – the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo – but it’s still filled with superstars such as Luka Modric, Antoine Griezmann and Luis Suarez.

Bundesliga – Solid football every weekend

The top football league in Germany is known as the Bundesliga where exciting soccer events happen. Unlike the two leagues before them on this list, there is one club that simply dominates the competition year after year – Bayern Munich. The club has won eight league titles in a row.

Following a distant second behind Bayern is Borussia Dortmund, which finished as the league’s runner-up in five of the last eight years. Other clubs such as RB Leipzig have tried to enter the top-flight fray in recent years, but no one’s been able to unseat Bayern.

Many of Germany’s best footballers stay within their country for their club play, and most of the top talent plays for Bayern Munich.

Ligue 1 in France

Over in France, the top football league is called Ligue 1. Starting in the 2010s, the league began to be dominated by one team – Paris Saint-Germain. It’s a club that is known throughout the world as attracting some of the top talent. The aforementioned Messi made his arrival to the club recently, too.
