FK Tirana president Refit Halili has heaped plaudits on Ndubuisi Egbo after the Nigerian gaffer guided the club to their 27th league title win on Sunday, reports Completesports.com.
The former Super Eagles goalkeeper made history as the first Nigerian manager to win a silverware with an European club.
Tirana were confirmed champions of the 2019/20 Albania SuperLiga season after second-place Kukesi lost 1-0 to Vllaznia on Sunday.
The result means Tirana currently on 69 points, are now seven points ahead of Kukesi with two games left to play.
The club will also compete in the UEFA Champions League next season.

“Egbo is the first foreign coach to receive the title of champion of Tirana. He has made an extra contribution. I take this opportunity to thank Kosta and Khafa as well as the directors, spokesman, the director of the stadium,”Halili told a news conference on Monday.
”Special support has been given to us by the fans, which has been a precious asset.
“We will sit down with Egbo to talk about what we will do for Champions League. If we agree, we will continue, if not we will continue with another coach.”
Egbo, who worked as Tirana’s goalkeeping coach for five years was appointed manager of the club in December 2019.

Imagine someone won you a League title. Qualified you for Champions League qualification and he’s saying if he disagrees, we’ll continue with another Coach.
I was even thinking he meant they will discuss with Egbo if they’ll hit the market for players to boost there Champions League hopes not until I read the last line. I’ve read racist reports in Albania. Am starting to see its very real there. Just imagine.

I remember the day i came to enugu from aba to see my brother samuel he was your team mate in nitel vasco you (ndubuisi) paid for my food and gave me goalkepers jersey that was 1994 i cant forget you. i accused my brain for mis-interpritation when i first read that particular part of the report, but after reading it 5 more times i now blame the Tirana president for speaking to the media despite knowing that his brain has started leaking oil.
Lollz,hw can a human being in his right senses think of ending his association with a coach that took charge when Tirana was heading toward the south pole (with a scarttered dressing room),but the coach (Egbo) put every thing in order in a blink of an eye and started firing them to the top and now enventually wining the tittle and you are thinking of sacking him? Not even an animal will think of that talkless of doing it.
Anyways I will be praying for this man to be healed from his BRAIN LEAKAGE soon, that he would come out and tell us he didn’t mean these words.
My brother, u need not be shocked and surprised at that kinda person and his absurd/barbaric way of reasoning, we have them plenty here in our backyard (nff). This is a true reflection of what happened (ref: Rohr) and what is happening at home here in the nff. We had the same scenario playing out before our very eyes here not too long ago. mr rohr took a team that was rejected like a cursed child up from the rubbles, dusted him and started nurturing him. Immediately the child matured and looked as if he was on the right trajectory to stardom,they immediately felt someone else could do better and started their evil schemes. Many,including people who had no biz whatsoever with coaching started making advances towards the team. Now we can clearly see how bad,evil and wicked such moves were at the time. One of our own is suffering the same faith as rohr did and we can clearly see that evil is evil no matter how it’s being presented or packaged. But as usual, good must overcome evil at the end of the day.

Abeg make we rest small about this “racist” issue. If na racism dem for no employ am as goalkeeper coach for 5 years, neither dem go carry the team give am last december. Make una no get me wrong, some of these people dey stupid and ignorant because I know dem wella but everything no be race matter. So many things dey happen for football clubs wey ordinary fans no know o. Zidane comot for Madrid after him win a third consecutive champions league,we fans be no know why. Make I propose one scenario. Egbo was drafted in December probably to assist on an interim basis, now he has a negotiating power because of his success and definitely many suitors. Maybe that’s the reason why the president is talking about negotiation and please remember my people dat all these small small clubs are just feeder teams to the big clubs. What if the club wants to cash in on the best players in the team, will Egbo agree? I rest my case.
Suprisingly Egbo contract is expiring soon, in a month or so.. The chairman must have had this stupid motive long ago..
