Tokyo 2020: D’Tigress Lose Again; Bow To France 87-62

D’Tigress suffered their second defeat at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics after going down to France in the basketball inside the Saitama Super Arena event on Friday, Completesports.com reports.

After the end of the encounter in Group B the French ladies triumphed 87 – 62, to record their first win.

Otis Hughley’s side had kicked off their campaign with a defeat against the United States of America.

The French took advantage of their strong start and deservedly ended the first quarter 18 points to 12.

They went on to take the second and third quarters 26-15 and 23-15 respectively before settling for a 20-20 point score in the fourth.

D’Tigress will now take on hosts Japan in their final group game.

The group’s other game saw the United States beat Japan to book their place in knockout stage.

    …we are not so organized and talented in these sports I would say,especially those who practise their trade in Nigeria. Sports is serious business in first nations… Sorry D’Tigress… You all played to your abilities only the opposition is Superior! Most of the girls in the French team will be from Subsaharan Africa… who have been exposed to good training, league and organization. If they were back in Africa some will be farmers running away from Herdsmen attack by now…

    Team Nigeria getting whopped left right and center. I wonder what the camp always looks/feels like in the evenings when all the athletes return to the games village from their various venues

    I still don’t understand why Evelyn Akhator was dropped. Why drop your best player in anticipation of Fiba granting Ogwumike sisters’ clearance. That backfired badly.
