Troost-Ekong Reflects On Move To Saudi Club Al-Khaloood

Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has revealed the reason behind his decision to join Saudi Arabia Professional Football League club, Al-Khaloood.

Troost-Ekong linked up with Paulo Duarte’s side from Greek Super League champions PAOK Thessaloniki last month.

The 31-year-old spent just one season at PAOK, winning the Greek Super League title with the club.

The centre-back was first linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in January.

Troost-Ekong said the need to secure his future prompted him to accept the offer.

“I got an offer I couldn’t turn down. I am 31, now I have think about the big picture,” Troost-Ekong said on Counter Attack Podcast.

“I think the Saudi Premier League is competitive, you see the names that are playing there in my first game was against Benzema, Kante, Fabinho, players that are world level.”

“But at the same time everybody talk about the opportunity you have there to guarantee your future,v to think about my family, kids.”
