The win took Villarreal to third in the group on four points after three rounds of games played.

Also in Group F, Cristiano Ronaldo once again got the winner as Manchester United came from 2-0 down to beat Atalanta 3-2 at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford started the fightback as he finished off a superb through pass from Bruno Fernandes on 53 minutes.

With 15 minutes left in the game Harry Maguire made it 2-2 as he smashed the ball beyond the Atalanta keeper from a corner.

And in the 81st minute Ronaldo headed in Luke Shaw’s cross to complete the comeback.

United now top the table on six points after winning their last two games.

And in other results, Bayern Munich smashed Benfica 4-0 in Portugal, Chelsea also hammered Innocent Bonke’s Malmoe 4-0 at Stamford Bridge, Juventus pipped Zenit 1-0 in Russia and Barcelona edged Dynamo Kyiv 1-0.

Also, Salzburg beat visiting Wolfsburg 3-1 and Sevilla held Lille to a goalless draw.
