Oleksandr Usyk defeated Daniel Dubois with a clinical knockout in the fifth round at London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday to become two-time undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, Sky Sports reports.
Usyk has now added Dubois’ IBF title to the WBA, WBO and WBC belts he already had, securing his place as the greatest heavyweight of his generation.
The fight was bubbling away with both fighters picking their moments carefully before the bout ignited in Round 5.
Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) dropped Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) the first time with a huge overhand right before the Brit got back to his feet.
Dubois, who was clearly hurt, came out swinging in a bid to stop the inevitable but it wasn’t enough.
Usyk landed a swinging left to the jaw of his opponent who was sent to the canvas again and this time, he didn’t get back to his feet.
