Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has expressed confidence that Nigeria will claim a convincing victory over Egypt in their final Group C match at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The defending champions revived their quarter-final hopes with a hard-earned 1-0 win over Zambia’s Copper Queens after suffering a shock 3-2 defeat to tournament debutants Malawi in their opening fixture.
Justine Madugu’s side will now take on the Cleopatras on Wednesday, knowing a positive result will secure their place in the knockout stage.

Nnadozie believes the Super Falcons are ready to deliver an improved attacking display and has backed the team to score plenty of goals against the North Africans.
“We have to score goals against Egypt, it won’t be easy as the group is still very wide open and we don’t know what Zambia and Malawi will play,” Nnadozie said after the game against Zambia.
China-based striker Folashade Ijamilusi also stressed the importance of the Super Falcons securing a convincing victory over Egypt.
“We need all three points and goals against Egypt,” added Ijamilusi.

When it comes scoring goals, it’s safe to say the Super Falcons are yet to fully come to the party.
Thus far in the tournament, 6 players across several countries have scored 4, 3 and 2 goals each, respectively. For us, Oshoala, Kanu and Ajibade have registered 1 goal each.
In the last tournament, Ihezuo, Ijamilusi and Okoronkwo blazed the trail in front of goal for Nigeria with rambunctious and ruthless displays in crucial games.
I guess Coach Magudu was expecting the trio to rediscover their magic, hence starting them in the first match but it never really happened. In fact, it starts to reason that all three stars are in real danger of losing their starting 11 status.
Ijamilusi failed to impress against Malawi as Okoronkwo and Ihezuo have thus far struggled to ignite spark in the Falcons attack. In their place, ageless Oshoala, enigmatic Kanu and ubiquitous Ajibade have filled in.
And Madugu might as well retain the trio as the arrow heads of the team, seeing how they saw off Zambia.
But there are others.
Fans are yearning for Monday, Omewa and Ajibade to be unleashed on unsuspecting opponents. I don’t think anyone is keen on Ordega getting a run-out. She is running the real risk of overstaying her Super Falcons welcome. In her place, any of NWFL hotshots Atume Doosuur or Abasiofon Uwah should have been called up – but, I digress.
Whatever the case, Nigeria’s attacking options are scary – seriously. With the right combination, right mentality, right routines, more goals will start to rain from the clouds in our strikers’ boots.
Madugu has a headache of selection, he should give our remaining opponents that headache with his selections, the right selections from this plethora of powerfully packaged players of ruthless proclivities in front of goal.
