WAFU U-17: Ghana FA President Charges Black Starlets To Beat Golden Eaglets

Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has charged the Black Starlets to overcome Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets in the third-place match of the WAFU Zone B Under-17 Championship.

The encounter will take place at the University of Ghana Stadium at 4pm today to determine who goes home with the bronze medal.

Simeon-Okraku, who visited the players final training session on Monday in preparation for the game, told Ghanafa.org that the Black Starlets should focus on beating the Golden Eaglets.

“Let’s be focused on our next opponent, Nigeria. They are beatable. Just don’t panic when things are difficult. Just be relaxed and keep playing to your strengths and the best of your abilities. You will get there.

“Let’s never depart from how we have been taught to play. Let us stay together,” he said.

“There are lots of talents on this team. Let no one tell you that you are not talented. I am the leader of football in this country, and I have trust in this team. And per the arrangements the FA has put in place, when you finish playing at the under-17 level, you will move to the under-18 level to continue with your progressive development,” he added.

Has it been confirmed that the winner of the semi-final tie will qualify for the under-17 AFCON

  • Beat them silly let them come home. They don’t deserve to go to the World Cup.

Useless set of players and coaches.

  • Nigeria will beat Ghana if the officials are not biased.

Ghana sees any game against Nigeria, no matter how irrelevant, as a do-or-die affair. I will not be surprised if the officials and the crowd conspire to get one over Nigeria. The lovers game should be cancelled in Africa, as is in Europe. Only the finals matter.

      • I know that ghanaians will do everything possible to win this match including threatening the officials. Ghanaians always see winning Nigeria in any match as winning world cup.

        • But we beat them at the finals of the last U17 they also hosted.

The referee wil decide the game .
    Either with red card
Or blow offside for a good goal
Lastly allow a bad goal to stand.
