Premier League club Watford have commiserated with their Nigerian stars William Troost-Ekong and Maduka Okoye, following Super Eagles elimination at this year’s AFCON.
Troost-Ekong and Okoye were in action but could not prevent the Eagles from losing 1-0 to Tunisia in the round of 16 on Sunday.
After a tight first half, Tunisia broke the deadlock early in the second half after Okoye was beaten by a Youssef Msakni’s long range shot.

All efforts to get back into the game was ended after Alex Iwobi was sent off for a bad tackle.
And commenting on the Eagles’ loss, Watford wrote on Twitter:”🇳🇬 Commiserations to Troost-Ekong & @OkoyeMaduka, who exit #AFCON2021 with #TeamNigeria after defeat in the Round of 16.”
Both players will hope to put the disappointment behind them when the Eagles face Ghana in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in March.

Maduka okoye is not ripe yet to be the number one for the eagles,how on Earth do you use one hand to make that type of save,when a long range shot is fired low,u need to hands to push the ball away unless the ball is coming up,then u can tip over the post,if it’s a curling shot,u may use one hand but this is a direct shot and he has a good view ,how ekong and omeruo or even ndidi allowed that guy take the shit still baffles me, knowing that our keeper is basket which I have always complained on this forum.im glad he has played himself out of our post going forward.he distracted himself with our loose girls that were praising him on social media,he wasn’t able to concentrate on the job, without knowing that Nigerians will come for him,he did same thing against searra Leone ,cape verde home and away, conceding cheap goals,I knew immediately that this guy isn’t ready yet
So he should have use 10 hands. The problem with you guy is blame game. We warn you but you wouldn’t listen. When you were hailing the team we said it that just a small blip you had start calling for players and coaches head better learn from this defeat.

I still recall all the videos of Enyeama poor saves for chief Dr. Drey upload here just to insult Enyeama as having started worse than Okoye in Super Eagles career… Imagine insulting Vincent Enyeama because of just a fine oyibo boy wey no fit catch grasshopper… Have you seen Dr.Drey say anything bad about Okoye’s howler? Or Ahmed Musa that has become motivation speaker to the team because he can’t kick ball again?
