We Know What We Will Do Against Super Eagles —Black Stars Coach, Addo

Ghana’s Black Stars coach Otto Addo has said his players know what they will do in today’s friendly game against Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

Addo, who was recently appointed as Black Stars coach, will be meeting the Eagles for the third time as a coach.

He led the Black Stars to clinch the Qatar 2022 World Cup ticket during the play-offs ahead of the Eagles.

Both teams will renew their rivalry in far away Marrakech, Morocco, and Addo would be hoping to maintain his unbeaten streak against Nigeria.

“I think we have observed them well, we know what to expect from them. They have really, really strong and experienced players, even though I guess not all of them are here,” he said in his presser on Thursday.

“I think they have a very, very strong squad. We expected them to be very hard to break against the ball but also with the ball, which you saw at the African Cup of Nations, they are really, really good in offensive transmission, they have fast players on the wings, y’all players upfront who can hold the ball mo matter who comes, with a really, really solid back chain so it’s going to be tough.

“But we know what we can do and we know how to play against such a host and even though they went to the final, they showed in some matches that they are vulnerable so anything can happen.

“I am just hoping that we get a good start and we can end this game as the winning team.”

After facing the Eagles, the Black Stars will also square off against Uganda in another friendly game.

  • He thought he is playing the match at ghana where they always threat their opponent and officials to win football matches.

The main reason why ghana don’t win competition outside ghana.

Super Eagles, go there and play this match like WORLD WAR 111, that’s how Ghana sees it. Don’t go there and start misbehaving as usual. If Ghana brings flying-tackles, give them flying-tackles. If they bring poking people in the eyes in front of referee, punch their heads off like Bright Osayi lol. If they punch your stomach once, punch their stomach 10× – that’s the only way to beat. They see you as enemies, see them as enemies too. That’s the mentality.

I may sound ridiculous but that’s the true nature of things between Ghana and Nigeria. I hope a coaching crew member can see this message and relay it to the team. I live here, I know what I’m talking about.

    Good luck to Super Eagles

    • I agree with your analysis, they should not go there and do gentleman big brother o!
They don’t respect you, they love to see you humiliated, let them get it into their heads, it’s no friendly anything, but my joy is that they are on neutral ground.
I hope they understand their usual approach of trying to break eagles momentum through rough tackles.
They should not play oyibo ball but real African soccer.

Yep. I was so annoyed when Nigeria lost 4-1 in London friendly and 2-1 in Afcon. In both games, while Ghana played dirty, Nigerian players were there doing ‘selense’ instead of matching their violence with bigger violence. As you rightly stated, its a neutral venue but it won’t make any difference if we don’t use the right mentality. There’s nothing friendly about games against Ghana (especially), South Africa and Cameroon!

  • You know what to do against Nigeria but you cannot do the same to get out of group stage in Afcon,  whenever they are to play against Nigeria they will be preparing like they are about to play World Cup finals but they cannot beat ordinary Comoros, they cannot win a single match in afcon. Until you stop hating on Nigeria you will continue to struggle.

What did we steal that you’re throwing such a big stone, it’s only a football game not a war of attrition please be civil

Against Nigeria now you know what to do, but you didn’t know what to do in afcon to win a single match. Nonsence! To loose to Ghana will be too painful than the loss against ivory coast in afcon finals. Super eagles must know this.

    You know what to do,
I waited to the final Game before coming to answer your nonsense words,
    You don’t have shame,
To say that your team knows what to do,
As if na world war you dey go fight..

Last last what happened, Ghana had no choice than to expect defeat, uwoooooo
