England coach Thomas Tuchel has disclosed that the Three Lions were unlucky not to have scored against Ghana in Tuesday’s FIFA World Cup 2026 game.
Recall that England and Ghana played out a frustrating 0-0 draw in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Group L match at Gillette Stadium in Boston.

The Three Lions came agonizingly close to sealing the three points late in the game when substitute Nico O’Reilly headed against the crossbar. The rebound fell directly to Captain Harry Kane, who uncharacteristically smashed his shot over the bar.
Following the stalemate against Ghana’s determined defensive block, Thomas Tuchel, in a chat with Sporty TV, noted that while England dominated possession, they were ultimately unlucky not to score after hitting the crossbar and missing late chances.
He also admitted that his team lacked the precise fluidity they showed in their opening match against Croatia. While frustrated by the missed opportunities, Tuchel recognized the resilience of Ghana, stating that his side was just a moment of fortune shy of securing a breakthrough.

“I think the Ghanaians were very good in defending and in counter attacks for most of the match. But we were unlucky not to score; we must have to pay more attention to that in subsequent games.
“I don’t have any idea whether it will change my plan against Panama in our final group game since the game is in four days.”
Despite the draw, the hard-earned point guarantees that both teams are well-positioned to advance from the group stage heading into the final round of fixtures.
