Ademola Lookman didn’t train with his Super Eagles teammates on Wednesday night ahead of this weekend’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone.
The Atalanta winger was excused from the training session held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.
The reason for Lookman’s exclusion was however not revealed by the technical crew.

22 players took part in the session including Fenerbahce defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel, who arrived camp on Wednesday morning.
The Super Eagles are expected to continue their preparations for the game on Thursday night.
Guinea-Bisssu moved to top position in the group after recording a 1-0 victory against Sao Tome and Principe on Wednesday night.

That is what we are saying inviting unfit player to camp, while we have players who are 120% fit, left out. When was the last time Lookman played for his club?
Another liability player for the super eagles just like aribo. Boniface or orban should have come instead of this one.
Orban,Boniface aren’t they strikers?Why should they get invite ahead of Lookman who plays from the wings?I understand they did very well over the past season but their rivals are Awoniyi,Iheanacho and Osimhen.The aforementioned trio plays in a more competitive league and flourished with their clubs.
Their inclusion was deserving.
Hopefully,we win in Monrovia then a couple of players could get a look in.
However,Nffs policy on home-base makes things more complicated.
@Greenturf Orban Can Play on the Right Had of forward position or Left for that matter. for an important game like this He should have taken Priority over either Moses Simon or Ahmed Musa. Plus Orban is also propbably the only free kick specialist Nigeria have now along with Iheanacho I won’t add Moses Simon there. We all know Moses Simon actually thinks he is good at Free Kicks but in reality I am probably better than Simon is in taking Free kicks.
Have you seen him play from the wings or you just assuming he could function there?Wing play is not as easy as you think my guy,you can’t pick players and throw them on the pitch to play unfamiliar positions because they were outstanding in their natural positions over the season.
Wing play requires a lot of responsibilities defensively and offensively.Wingers sometimes are functional in the midfield too,it can be multitasking it’s not as easy as you think.It’s a position well suited for players who are naturally skilled to man there,not for every Tom Dick and Harry.
Orban,Boniface should get better contracts hopefully,play in the top 5 European league in the coming season and give us the same performance of the past season,only then their invitation to the super eagles will be inevitable,because you can’t compete with the likes of Awoniyi,Iheanacho,Moffi and Osimhen playing your football in Belgium if I were the super eagles coach I will do the same.
Players that should have been left out are Musa,Aribo and Duru,I would like to see Sarki of the just concluded under 20 World Cup or Tella in place of Musa.Ebuehi for Duru.any one of Nnadi,Nwobodo or Akinsanmiro for Aribo these were the changes the team needs in my opinion.

Looking at the above SE pic, you could easily read the mindset of Musa, He looks totally lost amongst the new breed.
MUSA IS SERIOUSLY LETTING HIMSELF DOWN. BY THE TIME HE REALISES THIS , HE WOULD HAVE BECOME EVERY DICK AND HARRY FOOT MATCH.
