2024 Olympic Qualifier: Waldrum Reflects On Super Falcons’ Win Against Cameroon

Super Falcons head coach, Randy Waldrum has said it is important for his team to be more efficient in front of goal.

Waldrum’s side defeated the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon 1-0 on Monday to seal a place in the final qualifying round of the 2024 Olympic Games.

Esther Okoronkwo scored the winner in the 14th minute.

The Super Falcons however wasted a number scoring chances in the game especially in the first half.

“In the match we had some chances that we missed and it was a match we really struggled to win,” Waldrum said during his interaction with media after the game.

“You can go back and look at the opportunities that we had. We could have easily finished the game at half time.

“So, we have to be more efficient and clinical around our opponents’ vital area and convert chances into goals.

“I would have also preferred the match to be played in the night because the weather was hot, but we can’t complain because the players are all Nigerians and are used to it.”

    Shots fired…..!

I dont understand why the NFF keeps shooting players in the foot by making them play home games under 38 degrees heat simply because they want to save money for fueling generators that should enable us play our matches at night when the temperature will be 25 degrees or less.

Most of these players are coming from temperate regions for crying out loud.

@Dr Drey, you are on point. Even they are afraid of total power outage in the night as they can’t even manage the generator.
Take a look at how côté d’ivoire and other othe smaller African countries manage stadiums and electricity at night, then compare to us,look at national stadium, the rot, you will know that our leaders both political and at NFF are bunch of thieves and have nothing to offer
