Joe Aribo is elated to score on his second appearance for the Super Eagles following his sublime finish in the side’s 1-1 draw against Brazil on Sunday, reports Completesports.com.
Aribo capped a brilliant showing with Nigeria’s first goal in the 35th minute of the thrilling encounter.
The Glasgow Rangers midfielder found space in a packed penalty box to rifle in a low shot.
It was Aribo’s second goal in two international appearances for the three-time African champions.
Casemiro equalised for the South Americans three minutes after the break slotting the ball home after Marquinhos header came off the woodwork.
“Tough game against a top Brazil side! Team put in a shift till the end. Delighted to have got a goal!! Thank you to all the supporters that came out tonight and also everyone supporting worldwide! 🦅🇳🇬 @NGSuperEagles #SoarSuperEagles,”Aribo tweeted.

Southgate dey vex for not seeing aribo before now,up super eagles,up Nigeria.
ARIBALL DE NIGERIA STALLION. Two goals in two games. Congrats boy. More grease!
Congrats to coach Rohr and the entire team. Now, the Super Eagles have announced themselves to the world. The arrogant Brazil fans who complained that Nigeria and Senegal are not good enough to play Brazil, have been silenced. I hope this upward developmental trajectory is not cut short by Rohr having to quit for any reason! HOPE ROHR STAYS! If Rohr decides to go, many thanks to him for his fine work, and best wishes for the future. He will always have a special place in our hearts and in Nigeria’s football history. We will then need to replace him with someone who can continue where he left off.
Hope Oga Rhor do not go anywhere now or Nigeria will become super chickens again. NFF can pay this man if they really want to. The NFF can pay the coach even from what they make
after playing this Brazil match alone. The coach deserves his pay on time.
Edoman, you got that right! A worker deserves his wages. Pay Rohr on time and treat him well, and this guy will take us places!
A big congrats to all the diehard fans of the SuperEagles AND Oga Rohr. You’ve got the foresight to declare your stand. NFF should be careful. Rohr must stay. Achi
The cabals in the NFF want to frustrate and push Rohr out, so they will bring in their business partners in the name of coach and continue Where they stopped. But they will not succeed.
Aribo’s solo effort was impressive. That is all I can say. Nice effort from Osimhen too.
While i wish to congratulate the Eagles for flying higher and higher so far, i can’t but shake my head at the NFF!
They have forgotten that ‘a labourer is worthy of his wages’ as the saying goes!
In a well-organised system, its those who brings in the dough (players) that have the best benefits. Ask around.
On trips for matches, the players are treated in first class cabins and apartments while the officials take the crumbs!
Its the players that gets paid more than the officials because everything revolves around them – they make the name for the club and country. Without them, where will the officials be? Or our FIFA rating would have been like that of the Commoros.
Ask from the NFF egg-heads whether they have not paid themselves their estacode allowances and monthly salary!
I pray satan will not use them to loose the guy as they lost Dennerby, the Falcons coach!
But if they do, then they can equally second Danjuma to the team as well.
I rest my case.
But nff siad they are not ownig him or are they lying.
Rohr is still a coach with many things to learn. All the results so far are due to The players’s hunger and not a technical know how from the coaching crew….right from the Afcon, second half is always a disaster..maka why? And how can a player such as Iwobi who ain’t playing well, played till the 83rd minute even in a friendly game? You Ramon azeez and co on the bench..smh
Rohr needs to work on his tactics, reading the game and making subs. Who on earth subs blistering Osimhen for a player such as Onuachu? When Dennis and Olayinka were on the bench. I am wondering who keeps calling Onuachu for matches.
Overall, kudos to the players for their compact play. Nodding needs to work on his passings, Iwobi should grow up, chukwueze should get more fouls outside the opponent dangerous areas. Kudos to Simon, his physicality is a plus to the team
Adeniyi, please submit your cv and application to the NFF as a better tactician, so you can replace the clueless Rohr, who reasons and thinks from his anus, yet delivers excellent and brilliant results, with the Super Eagles becoming a team to beat. When the SE fail, it is Rohr’s blunder, but when they soar, it has nothing to do with the coach’s effort but the player’s determination to succeed. Mchchchch! Rohr stays. He is the best we have had in recent times. Congrats Rohr. Congrats SE.
Bro, i won’t celebrate mediocrity. If you are seeing no tactical deficiencies in this team…all well and good…I am sure if the Brazilians have taken their chances well, you won’t be saying this. For over 3years now, we still don’t have a steady team. How long does Rohr have to give us a steady team? Did u see the changes Tite was making yesterday? Compare them to your gaffer’s, it’s crytal clear. I maintain, Rohr needs to improve on his tactics, that’s why he is the coach. Algeria clipped our wings in afcon, and he got adeconfused and u know what happened. See the match against Ukraine, make ur changes and stabilized the team, no not until things got worse, Against Brazil, ur number thing ain’t effective but I waited until 83rd mins to sub him off, ur powerful and sleek number 9 was subbed off for a heavy and less skillful 7footer…..everyone knows Rohr lacks the required tactics
Sorry brother, but your comment simply shows you dont know the primary assignment of soccer coach, which is to bring out the best out of the players. Brazil had bags full of all needed to beat a just-above-average Nigerian team, but they had to fight for a stalemate in such a game. In such a game, you don’t even talk about the Brazilian team, you talk about the Nigerian team that puts up a strong hold of confidence that was seen in the eyes of all of the players. You also wrote about the substitutions made by the coaches, well, if you have been watching this guy, he’s got tradition, and that’s the chance for the individuals to prove their worth in countless times. For example, We all know what ighalo was made up of, before he had a goal drought that runs for more than a year, he beilived in him and made him delivered at the needed time. Onuachu was a big monster in his first two matches for the country, he had a goal drought after club transfer and he regained his confidence. In addition, he’s a tall guy, could gain and hold ball for a while for his team mate to join in the last third of such game where Nigeria had to rely on counter. Also, Moses simon had been a great jelly we all knew, he had injury and club transfer problems, and didn’t perform in couple of occassions, but take a look at his confidence yersterday. Finally, if you ever have to judge any one, it is better to have an overview of what they have done or their achievement within a span of time that you know them rather than putting up a cheecky arguement on what you arew not a masters in.
If you will have to be honest with yourself, Rohr tactical ability is below average even though his results so far aren’t far from good. I’m a big fan of Rohr as well but that wouldn’t blind me not to see his weaknesses. Rohr has really stabilized eagles and as well done a good job so far no doubt but he needs to improve his tactics, ability to read game and do the needful just at the right time. #Rohr Stays! #God bless him and the super eagles of Nigeria as the fly into the bright future.
@ Adeniyi shut up if you don’t have any meaningful thing to say. Yes his number 10 was on the field for 84 minute before being substituted because you and your likes are so myopic to see the defensive ability he offered on the field. he was everywhere from attack to the defense yet some of u think a coach will be so dumb to leave a player who isn’t contributing anything in a match to such a time before substituting him. Iwobi might not perform to your expectations but to his coach it seems he did his tasks well as commanded. As for your attack on the coach substitutions maybe u should apply for the job and see if it is easy to say with ordinary mouth as you have pointed out aboved. May be you should ask pundits like Garry Nevile, Solkjaer etc to know if coaching job is as easy as u you guys always analysed with mouth. mtccccchew
Those who know tactics should apply for the super eagles job or better still start from under 17, 20 and 23.
