Napoli coach Antonio Conte says the club management prevented him from fielding Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen against Verona in Sunday’s Serie A game.
Recall that Osimhen was left out as Napoli collapsed 3-0 to Verona amid talk of his imminent sale.
In a chat with Football Italia, Conte stated that the clun should be held responsible for his inability to use Osimhen.

“This is a question you have to ask the club and not me. I see that Osimhen has been training separately since his return.
“You have to ask the club, absolutely not to me. I said it straight away; I put myself as a spectator on this story.
“But beyond a single player, you certainly need to have a different attitude, with more personality and more desire. I’ve found some kids who struggle with the difficulty, and this is a serious thing because you don’t train them in a very short time; you have to have time and patience. You have to try to make them grow in terms of mentality.”

When they played pre season and won you went ranting that Osimhen should leave the facilities for your Lukaku to come just because Cheddira and Simone scored against league2 teams. This Conte is a man I use to like but right now he’s lying and making a mockery of himself and Napoli after losing recklessly to Hellas. Lol soccer punch!!!!

Anytime Osimhen dey field even if he no score, his presence alone creates chances for other players to score.

I don’t even think the coach is to be blamed. I think Napoli was protecting Osimhen….Osimhen that can injure anyhow, if you want to sell him that high then don’t let him play to avoid any kind of injury
Onwajunior ask me I will tell you, you see that was not the plan however it did change because on the second day of Pre Camp in Castel di Anaune Val di Non before the game against Auane Val di, Osimhen got an ankle sprain this prompted ADL (Owner of Napoli) to make this decision at Board Level, the Plan was always to show case Osimhen in Pre Season because after the season Napoli had and the underperformance of their key playrs it was actually imperative for Napoli to allow Osimhen play. so restricting him actually worked against the sale and Conte actually took to Osimhen unlike what the media been trying to portray I know I followed Napoli’s training camp on CalcioNapoli.tv, Osimhen like every player took every training seriously the Boy came back to camp early and was ready but the damage was done last season after the racisit abuse form his own fans and his reactions and blaming of the club alot of insidences which both parties must take blame Osimhen’s for not humbling himself after a bumper contract and taking his frustrations of the tiktok post on the Napoli hierachy when in actual fact they can’t control what fans post and the Napoli heirachy for not protecting their star player better. So a arrogant Owner and a Angry Osimhen clashed heads and now they just need to resolve it and allow him to play one more season or at least half to showcase himself and help the sale to balance their books because they really expected to get ROI which they may have if not for the live video rant and all the drama. Conte definitely would like to coach Osimhen but this is board level drama.
So in actual fact not playing him in Pre-camp worked against Napoli if they really indeed wanted to sell him as the Media is trying to portray.
