Former Nigerian international, Peter Rufai believes the Super Eagles will be one of the difficult teams to beat at the 2023 African Cup of Nations.
Recall that Nigeria ended their campaign in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series in grand style as they romped to a 6-0 win over Sao Tome and Principe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
With the victory, the Super Eagles finished top in Group A with 15 points; scoring an astonishing 22 goals in the process.
However, in a chat with Completesports.com, the 1994 AFCON winner, said that the Super Eagles will be tough nut to crack at the tournament.
He also said that the crop of players at Jose Peseiro’s disposal are blessed with talents.
“I am very delighted with the general performance of the Super Eagles against Sao Tome and in the group. This is just what Nigerians want to see, goals and goals.
“But critically looking at the team, I want to believe that they will be a tough nut to crack at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Nigeria have quality players at the moment and I am optimistic they will go far in Ivory Coast.”

Na so for paper. Dey wil top their group with 9 pont but as usual . before it was Tunisia now dey wil meet Morocco u can guess the result.

Captin Rufai Super Eagles need strong and
rigorous defence on midfield and back side, cause SE have been lacking defensive mentality for along time that have lost them CAF final cup of 88,90,2000 also have cost them exclution from World Cup final in 2006, 2002 by Angola in 2006 and Ghana 2022; in World Cup qualifier 2022 SE against Ghana in Abuja stadium Thomas Partey shot from distance which caused Ghana goal, this because of SE bad coverage by defensive midfielders and center backs this an example which proves SE lack defensive mentality; I recommend Peseiro to take care of defensive midfield and center backs with putting tight defensive tactic with selecting strong and discipline defensive players who can be SE arsenal on midfield and center back, with not neglecting goalkeeper function and attacking trait mentality.
