Former Kwara United coach, Samson Unuanel has questioned Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro’s technical ability to manage the the senior national team.
He made this known on the backdrop of some of the poor substitutions in Nigeria’s 3-2 win over Sierra Leone in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Monrovia.
In a chat with Completesports.com, Unuanel said that the Portuguese tactician lacks a few tactical and technical aspect of the game.
“I was not really convinced with Peseiro’s technical and tactical know-how, most especially in the game against Sierra Leone, where I think he failed to read the game properly.
“Besides, a more tactical team would have defeated the Super Eagles having leveled the score 2-2. His substitutions was not on point but I am delighted that the team have qualified for the 2023 Africa Cup Nations.”

Sierra Leone almost defeated Nigeria. It’s God that save us. The substitution was wrong. After 2:2, more technical term than Sierra Leone would have nailed it with another goal before the end of the match but thank God Nigeria won.
Even, the third goal could have been easily rule offside by a wicked referee.
I can only say that we won the match with God’s help.

@** Work hand to hand with your Technical crews
@** Let the invitation of players base on merit
@** Don’t allow anybody FORCE/IMPOSE any players on you. Instead SCOUT for players & test them in Friendly matches
@** Invite local players that is ready to give foreign professional players a stiff competition(not the one to add to the number/surplus to requirements).
@** Always maintain your stand
@** Don’t allow anybody to be pushing you up and down.
@** Don’t be carried away with the club performance of players ONLY but base on PRESENT FORM & POTENTIAL
@** Do not tolerate INDISCIPLINE in to your team.
#** Do not invite players in order to pacify/please somebody (like local Coach Equavoen)
@** Encourage your players to be STRONG & MORE PHYSICAL when it comes to Africa football
@** Try to take advantage of newly introduced format: FIVE-SUBSTITUTION in a match(approved by CAF & FIFA) as an opportunity to test-run other players and MORE TECHNICAL in it.
@** Emphasize more on WING PLAY pattern for Super eagle.
SO YOU CAN SEE THAT YOU DIDN’T TAKE TO ANY ONE OF THIS ADVICE, AND THAT IS THE REASON WHY YOU ARE INVITING IRRELEVANT PLAYER(Musa), BENCH-WARMER PLAYERS (Aribo, Onuachu, Omeruo), INCONSISTENT PLAYERS (Iheanacho, Ndidi) INTO SUPER EAGLE TEAM WHEN WE HAVE TOP-FORM PLAYERS LIKE MOFFI, ORBAN, ONYEDIKA, OSIGWE.
THE MOST PAINFUL ONE, CONTINUOUS SNUBBING OF CHUBA AKPOM (the best SUPPORTING (not main) STRIKER). OR WHICH OF THE SUPER EAGLE SUPPORTING STRIKERS IS BETTER THAN CHUBA AKPOM (Golden boot winner).
IF YOUR CONTRACT IS NOT EXTENDED AT LAST, YOU ARE THE ONE THAT CAUSED IT.
The man just need to be sacked abeg… he doesn’t Have it coach our national team… NFF should notice if they make any mistake to give him a contract to Afcon.. failure and disgrace we be your next Name.. I just can’t imagine this kind of coach or someone in a coner telling him the certain players he we invite.. we have the like of Boniface, orban oyedika and Alhasan Yusuf where not invited…then you keep invited branch warmer’s and inactive Players… This is absolutely bullshit….
To those who is dictating for you the players to invite. Ask the waht was their achievement.. eguavon has always been a failure with couples of time he was giving the national opportunity to redeem himself.. He failed… So I still wonder why he is still in that job…… Both paseiro and that Dictation eguavon doesn’t have anything to take our football forward

But I will want to see him play friendly game with Europe teams before dey do anything about his contract…
A game with team like ajax, Anderlecht and Leeds united.. .
As far he won the match his a good coach , is only when you lost match that makes you not a good coach .
