FIFA To Select 2023 Women’s World Cup Host  June

The Federation of International Football  (FIFA) has announced it will announce the host of the 2023 women’s World Cup on June 25  this year.

FIFA made the announced in a statement released on their official website on Friday.

The world football governing body stated that the host country will be announced during its council meeting which will be conducted  online.

In the most competitive bidding process in the history of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, four bids are in the race to host the 2023 edition.

The bids are from Australia and New Zealand  (co-host), Brazil, Colombia and former women’s champion Japan.

Also, FIFA stated that it remains committed to implementing the most comprehensive, objective and transparent bidding process in the history of the FIFA Women’s World Cup. 

It said this is part of its overall commitment to women’s football that, among other things, will see FIFA invest $1 billion in women’s football during the current cycle.
 
All eligible bids will be presented to the FIFA Council in order for it to select the host(s) within the scope of an open voting process, in which the result of each ballot and the related votes by the members of the FIFA Council will be made public on FIFA.com.
