Former Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain has opened up on why the signing of Karim Benzema and Kaka at Real Madrid got him upset.
Higuain spent around six years at Madrid in all between, making 190 La Liga appearances between 2007 and 2013, scoring an impressive 107 times.
He then joined Napoli in 2013 having been replaced by Benzema, a player he got on well with, even if he was far from thrilled with the Frenchman’s arrival.

Higuain, who is now with Inter Miami, told ESPN via Diario AS: “In the first training session, I remember that Capello picked me.
“After one year I scored 27 goals, Cristiano 26…and in the summer they brought in Benzema and Kaka.
“I said: ‘how can this be? How many goals have I scored? I’m a scorer and you bring me Benzema and Kaka’
“Karim came in and he got the best out of me and me him.
“It was a very healthy competition with Benzema.
“They saw that he was a brilliant striker. Unfortunately, we could not play much together.”
After Higuain’s exit, Benzema has gone on to achieve more success at Madrid, winning four Champions League titles, Laliga, Copa del Rey, Spanish Super Cup, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Ronaldo was the stand out Star of Madrid in his time there… no question Ronaldo is the reason Kaka (whom they bought to power the squad along with ronaldo as the tried to build the Galacticos again foloowing Zizou, figo, Beckham and Original Ronaldo’s exit) left Madrid a shell of his former self. Ronaldo is the reason France never seen the need to rescind Benzema exile form the National team because Ronaldo stood head and Shoulders above the rest. Ronaldo Kills great players Moral because he is the GOAT!!! period. Obviously with Higuain Being Argentinian and the way the worship Messi over there. He will not give CR7 the credit he deserves.
