Liverpool and England legend Steven Gerrard has given Arsenal hints on how to overcome Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League final.
Reigning champions PSG will meet Arsenal in the final, after holding Bayern to a 1-1 draw in the semifinal second leg on Wednesday to go through 6-5 on aggregate.
Ousmane Dembele put PSG 1-0 up early in the first half after finishing off a swift counter attack, before Harry Kane pulled a goal back for Bayern in stoppage time.
This will be PSG’s third final and they will be targeting their second European title and victory over Arsenal will make them the most successful French team in the history of the Champions League. The other French team who have won Europe’s elite club competition was Marseille in 1993.
Speaking after the second semifinal Gerrard, who led Liverpool to lift the Champions League in dramatic fashion against AC Milan in 2005, said being the underdog may suit Arsenal.

“I know more than anyone that an underdog can win this final,” Gerrard was quoted on Arsenal News Channel’s X handle. “It was a mismatch when we played AC Milan but anything can happen. Arsenal are playing against a high-quality team with an elite manager in PSG so Arsenal will have to be the best versions of themselves.
“Every single player will have to turn up but of course they’ve got a chance. Being the underdogs might even suit this Arsenal team. If they can win the Premier League that will give them immense confidence and belief going into the final as well.
“They’ve certainly got a chance. I think they need to use their physicality, their size, make every set-piece count and take PSG to places they don’t want to go and make it uncomfortable for them.”
