Oleksandr Zinchenko has revealed that he sort the advice of Jurrien Timber before joining Ajax.
The Eredivisie giants signed Zinchenko after the defender’s season-long loan with Nottingham Forest was brought to an early end.
The 29-year-old’s contract with the Dutch club will run until June.
No details regarding a transfer fee have been disclosed.
Asked about the role Timber played in the transfer, Zinchenko told Ajax TV:”Jurrien Timber? Yes I spoke with him. He was actually the first person who I called regarding Ajax. Timber just said only positive things. He said it’s a massive club, you’re going to enjoy it.”
Zinchenko had been with the Gunners since July 2022 and played 91 times across three seasons before his spell with Forest, which began in September.
He had previously played for Manchester City but also has Eredivisie experience having been loaned to PSV during the 2016-17 season.
