After the game Ruben Amorim insisted the player wasn’t dropped but that had been omitted due to his injury issues that prevented him from being a part of United pre-season games.

But that hasn’t stopped speculation about his future, which started at the end of the last campaign due to Onana’s indifferent form.
Now SunSport can reveal his former club Inter are interested in re-signing a player who was a massive success in Italy.
Onana, 29, also remains a cult-hero among Inter supporters after helping them reach the 2023 Champions League final, which they lost to Manchester City.
And Inter chiefs believe Onana – who joined United after that defeat in Istanbul in a £47million deal – would be open-minded to a return to the San Siro.
Inter replace Onana with Yann Sommer who also impressed in the Italians’ run to last year’s Champions League final, in which they were smashed by Paris Saint-Germain.
Boss Simone Inzaghe quit to join Saudi side Al Hilal after the mauling, and replacement Christian Chivu is understood to be keen to bring in a new No 1.
Inter and Royal Antwerp are both reportedly in talks for goalkeeper Senne Lammens – who is also a target of United.
