Ademola Lookman and Fiorentina goalkeeper David De Gea have been ranked as the best performing players in Serie A over the first 13 matches of the 2024-25 season.
The ranking was compiled by Football Italia.
The football outfit ranked the top 10 Serie A players after Round 13, which ended with Lecce’s 1-0 win away against Venezia on Monday night.
The ranking is based on average player ratings from Italian sports papers for footballers who have made at least 50% of Serie A appearances this term.
Lookman jumped up to the top of the standings after scoring his seventh league goal in 10 games during Atalanta’s 3-1 victory over Parma at the weekend
Former Manchester United goalkeeper De Gea is level with Lookman on average ratings after keeping another clean sheet in Fiorentina’s 2-0 win over 10-man Como, helping his club to seven wins on the bounce.
Another Atalanta forward included is Mateo Retegui who completed the top three.
Retegui was on the scoresheet after just four minutes against Parma, and is still leading the division’s top scorer charts with 12 from 13 games.
Despite losing to Atalanta, former Real Madrid talent Nico Paz ranks highly among the best performing Serie A players.
Moise Kean and Nuno Tavares are level in fifth with the same rating, while Marcus Thuram, Mattia Zaccagni, Timothy Weah and Ardian Ismajli follow closely behind.
