Manchester United are set to make an improved offer in excess of £60million for Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo, talkSPORT understands.
The Red Devils saw an earlier offer of £45m plus £10m in add-ons turned down by the west London club who valued the 25-year-old at £60m.
It now appears that Brentford are likely to get their asking price which falls in the region of the £62.5m United are paying to secure the services of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.
Should Brentford accept United’s fresh offer then it would instantly become their record sale after the £40m fee recouped for Ivan Toney last summer.
Mbeumo is set to land a sizable wage increase to join Manchester United.
The Cameroonian currently earns in the region of £50,000-a-week but is set to earn five times that amount with United happy to meet his weekly demands of £250,000.

The Red Devils boss is looking to secure his reinforcements early with an emphasis on attacking players following the club’s 15th-placed finish having scored just 44 goals in 38 matches.
Meanwhile, Mbeumo produced his most fruitful campaign so far as he helped fire the Bees to a mid-table finish.
Mbeumo weighed in with an impressive 20 goals and seven assists in the Premier League with only Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak scoring more.
