Former Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi has disclosed that he was offered performance-enhancing drugs at Chelsea.
He made this revelation after Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk failed a drugs test on Tuesday and was provisionally suspended by the Football Association.
Recall that the Ukraine international released a statement shortly after the news emerged, where he claimed he had “not done anything wrong.”.
Reacting to this development, the former Chelsea star told Obi One Podcast that Mudryk is innocent until proven guilty.

“For him (Mudryk) and his family, I hope he is innocent. I remember when we were playing, if someone was offering me something, I would ask you what it was”, Mikel said on the Obi One podcast.
“I’m responsible for what I put in my body, what I eat, and stuff like that. People around will offer you stuff—friends, friends of friends—they will tell you that this will give you this or it will give you one or two more percent in your performances, and I’m like, What is this? Is this legal?
“I tell them to go away; I don’t want to talk about it. We have to take responsibility for our actions and what we eat. But for now, Mudryk is innocent until proven guilty.”

50%? 60%? Perhaps as much as 70%? Or more?
I wonder what he needed performance enhancing drugs for, when he spent much of his time warming the bench. Abi bench warmer also needs performance enhancing drugs, so he can perform his bench warming duties better?
I hope Chelsea FC don’t seek legal relief against him for this libelous comment. I mean, is Mikel implying that Chelsea FC fosters an environment that actively encourages the distribution of performance enhancing drugs to players? As a public figure, Mikel should understand that he needs to be careful with his utterances.
