Kano Pillars have confirmed the appointment of Daniel Ogunmodede as the club’s new technical adviser ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, reports Completesports.com.
The four-time NPFL champions announced the appointment in a brief statement posted on their official X account on Friday.
“We’ve reached an agreement to appoint Daniel Ogunmodede (Ijaball) as our new Technical Adviser ahead of the 2026/2027 football season.
“Welcome to Kano and the Sai Masu Gida family. We are happy to have you with us!” the statement read.
Ogunmodede is expected to sign a two-year contract with the Sai Masu Gida, marking the beginning of a new era for one of Nigeria’s most successful clubs.
Ogunmodede Starts New Journey With Pillars
The 46-year-old arrives with an impressive reputation after guiding Remo Stars to their historic maiden NPFL title in the 2024/25 campaign, ending years of near misses for the Ikenne-based club.

Under his leadership, Remo Stars established themselves as one of the most consistent and attractive sides in the Nigerian top flight, earning praise for their attacking football and disciplined style of play.
He stepped down from his position at Remo Stars towards the end of last season after spending several years transforming the club into genuine title contenders and regular participants in CAF interclub competitions.
Ogunmodede is currently one of the assistant coaches to Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle.
Sai Masu Gida Will Benefit From Experience
His appointment is expected to boost Kano Pillars’ ambitions of returning to the summit of Nigerian football after several seasons without a league title.
The club’s hierarchy will be hoping Ogunmodede can replicate the success he enjoyed at Remo Stars and build a competitive side capable of challenging for domestic honours and a place in continental competition.
Pillars managed to escape relegation on the final day of last season.
