Team Plateau defeated Team Oyo 61-41 in their opening fixture of men’s basketball event at the ongoing 2024 National Sports Festival on Thursday.
The encounter took place at the Alake Sports Complex, Abeokuta.
Plateau started the game strongly but Team Oyo put up a good fight in the first and second quarters.
They dominated the third and fourth quarters to record a 20-point victory.
In another game, Team Delta saw off Enugu 48-31 in a thrilling encounter.
The Enugu boys took control of the game from the start, and deserved the win.
Team Rivers also recorded a 50-38 victory over Team Kaduna.
