Team Edo claimed bronze medal in the women’s handball following a 32-20 win over Team Kogi in their third-place fixture at the 2025 National Sports Festival on Tuesday.
Team Edo dominated from the start, and led 18-10 after the break.
Their dominance continued into the second half, with quick passes, clinical finishing, and solid defense ensuring a comfortable 12-goal margin at full time.

FCT went home with the bronze in the men’s category after a 30-17 victory over Team Edo.
They led 14–6 at the break and kept control in the second half with a disciplined display that stifled Edo’s attack and exploited defensive gaps.
The 13-goal victory underlined FCT’s quality to end their festival campaign on a high.
The final of the men’s and women’s category will be played at the Alake Sports Complex, Ijeja, Abeokuta
Host, Ogun will have a chance for double glory in the final as their women’s team will play Sokoto in the women’s category, while their men counterpart will slug it out against rivals Lagos in the men’s category.
