Obuh: Distractions From Scouts Contributed  To Flying Eagles loss To Ghana

Former Flying Eagles coach John Obuh has said distractions from scouts contributed to the team’s defeat to Ghana in Wednesday’s Group B WAFU B Zonal qualifiers in Porto Novo, Benin Republic.

The Flying Eagles succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to their Ghanaian counterparts which put their hopes of qualifying for the 2021 U-20 AFCON in jeopardy.

They must now hope Ghana beat Cote d’Ivoire with a wider margin to stand a chance of advancing into the semi-finals of the on-going regional qualifying tournament.

In their first game against Cote d’Ivoire the Ladan Bosso-led side were held to a 1-1 draw.

And Obuh who led the Flying Eagles to the 2013 U-20 AFCON title in South Africa blamed the presence of scouts at the team’s camp for their loss.

He told Brila FM: “Once players hit the camp the scouts want to convince them to sign contracts for them, making them feel that as long as they are in the camp they can always travel abroad irrespective of whether they play well or not.”

The WAFU B Zonal tournament in Benin Republic will serve as qualifiers for next year’s U-20 AFCON in Mauritania.

    Excuses upon excuses

  • “… They must now “hope” Ghana beat Cote D’Ivoir with a wider margine to stand a chance of advancing to the semifinals…”

B4 ROHR came on board, this is how SUPER EAGLES use to “HOPE”….. (BARCA MUST BEAT ZAMBIA, THEN ASHANTI KOTOKO MUST DRAW LIVERPOOL for NIGERIA to qualify….)
    hahahahahahahahahahaha….

    Chai….!!!!!

SOME PPLE ARE USE TO “HOPING THINGS”…. BUT ROHR and the REAL S.E FANS are not depending on any team to win or loose for S.E to qualify…. We do our home work on time….

Now that the table has finally turn around…. U pple should continue “hoping” in that side…..

    Hahahahahahahaha….

WE’RE NOT READY TO “HOPE” IN S.E TILL AFTER 2022…..

Why did you make this kind of mistake? BARCA MUST BEAT ZAMBIA BY A W-I-D-E  MARGIN….. I doubled up and shed tears. hahahahaha. I had to scream for a glass of water.

I hope I don’t have to shop for another calculator!

Obuh: Distractions From Scouts Contributed  To Flying Eagles loss To Ghana. We only hear stories like this one when our fellow Nigerian brothers are in charge of our teams. Those scouts and agents don’t get any attention from GR and it’s not going down well with them.

They are part of the reason our dumb sports minister was cluelessly trying to force home based players on the Super Eagles coach without any clear understanding or knowledge of the damage he is about to inflict on the team and the country as a whole and that overrated odegbami for his senseless selfish reasons won’t quit spitting nonsense.

Good confessional statement from Obuh. Just what Rohr would not allow, reason they, criminals are inventing all kinds of machinations to usurp his position. Failure failure n failures shall for ever be their perfume. Like or hate me, I care less, as I continue to resound this vibration unto the Alfa

what a country:scavengers, usurpers, sychophants, gold diggers everywhere nd the worst, find there ways to the highest decision making levels in the land…….in fact evil has forcefully taken, for itself, the highest seats of honour in the land.A country that is declared the largest economy in africa, with all the wherewithals for greatness still wallowing in poverty, having nothing that works nd seriously incapacitated by leaders who are greedy, heartless nd unpatriotic.

What crap is obuh saying. Please present your evidence and stop ranting all over the place. You just a sore loser, just because you weren’t considered for the job. Guess you one of those that was distracting the team. Rubbish

  • I am not a prophet of doom but I knew this was going to happen. When you give a youth team to a coach who has lost contact with modern football reality, this is exactly what you get.Hoping for another coach/team to win, for you to advance, what a shame…The team lack vision, purposefulness and creativity. If they truly relies on the kick and run football I saw, they are dreaming and will go no where. As a Nigerian I sincerely hope their wish comes true.

Are Nigerians the only footballers scouted by teams in Europe? Why are scouts distracting Nigerians and not the Ghanaians who beat them ? We should welcome any scouts who can arrange better employment for young, home-based footballers to bring them out of poverty in Nigeria.Thst is not a distraction but a notivation

Don’t mind these shameful lame excuses.

This is the sort of contribution that is draped in common sense and logical thinking rather than deluded conspiracy theories born out of paranoia.
      Thumbs up @ako amadi
