Kenneth Omeruo says it is important for Leganes to continue their impressive run of form to boost their chances of securing promotion at the end of the season, Completesports.com reports.
Omeruo scored a late winner as the Cucumber Growers beat promotion rivals Almeria 2-1 at home on Wednesday night.
Leganes are now unbeaten in their last four league games and currently occupy fourth position on the table.
“I am very happy with this game because it’s a very important game for us, we have to keep improving to get close to the teams at the top and right now we have a good rhythm and it is important that we continue,” Omeruo said after the game.

“We did not have enough time to prepare for this game but the coach did a lot of work for us to understand how to get close to them before the ball.
“Even when we had the goal, we had to keep going and it shows we worked hard that is why we got this result today.”
The defender has featured in 20 league games for the Estadio Municipal de Butarque outfit this season with one goal to his name.
Leganes will face Tenerife in their next league game on Sunday.
