Peseiro Committed To Building A Strong Super Eagles

Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has reiterated his desire to build a formidable squad that can compete favourably against any team in the world.

The three-time African champions have struggled to make impact since the Portuguese took charge of the team last year.

Peseiro came under intense criticism following the Super Eagles’ 1-0 defeat to Guinea-Bisssu last week Friday.

The Super Eagles redeemed their image by avenging the shocking defeat, by scrapping past the Djurtus 1-0 on Monday.

Peseiro is adamant the team will get better with time and make Nigerians proud.

“First, we lost even though we had created what was necessary to win, then we won while maintaining the same level. However, what has been fundamental to our success is our trust in our processes, in each other, and in our identity,”Peseiro wrote in his Facebook page.

“On the field, the players have shown their commitment to winning for Nigeria and making Nigerians proud.

“The work does not end here. We remain determined to continue the hard work and bring glory to our team. With each game, we are more motivated to achieve our goals. The journey ahead may be long and challenging, but we are ready to face any obstacle that comes our way.”

“As we move forward, we remain united in our resilience and strength. We are confident that together, we can continue to make progress and achieve even greater things for Nigeria. The Nigerian people can be proud of their team and the hard work we put in day after day. Together, we will continue to make history and to bring glory to Nigeria.”

Ghana want a friendly match with the SITE PLANNER aka the SITE ENGINEER lol

Siasia SAMSON is the best coach for Nigeria! Trust me on this

I fear Siasia as a Ghanaian football fan than any other NIGERIAN coach

  • I see a bit of Gernot Rohr in this guy: a coach who is willing to bend to the inept, corrupt and incompetent ways of the Nigeria Football Federation.

To be honest, I will just leave him to do the job until the end of the Afcon next February whereupon he and Nigeria can part ways under mutual consent.

The truth of the matter is that no highly organized coach, foreign or even indigenous, can achieve anything meaningful with the Super Eagles under the current chaotic and caustic climate created by our football administrators.

Peseiro, like Rohr before him, is resigned to his fate. We the fans blame him for “poor squad selection” but a local media outlet ran a story which suggested that Victor Boniface chose to decline Super Eagles invitation (for the recent Afcon qualifiers) because he refused to be responsible for his own flight tickets – under a stupid system that would see him attempt to claim it back.

If true, this would suggest to me that Peseiro is restricted to only players who are willing to pay for their own flight tickets to games (only to be owed for many many weeks the reimbursement of the same tickets, for the “privilege” of playing for Nigeria).

    Just imagine!

I suspect my comments on Nigerian football will start to reduce in the coming weeks and months. Things are really bad and failure can be the only logical expectation of any rational Nigeria fan based on how repugnant our football is being managed.

    – Under 20 World Cup: failure looming.

    – Women’s World Cup: failure looming.

    – Under 17 Afcon: failure looming.

    – Under 23 Afcon: failed venture

    – Qatar World Cup: failed venture.

Failure, Failure, Failure! this is the legacy of the NFF under recent administrators.

Back to my point above: I will just leave Jose Peseiro alone to finish the job he started.

I expect him to qualify Nigeria for the 2024 Afcon where we should expect to crash out in the quarter finals. If we are lucky, we will reach the semi-finals and eventually come out forth (which I will celebrate under the current hellish circumstances that the NFF has plunged us into).

I thank Almighty God for witnessing the 1994 and 2013 Afcon victories. God I thank you for the 1996 Olympic Gold.

NFF I thank you for the current unshakable cloud of failure, despair and despondency hanging around all our national teams.

My brother, your expectations are high oh lol….I don’t even think we will pass the group stage honestly lol.

    • Deo the hopeful dreamer. A year ago Nigeria didn’t score a goal in open play over two legs against Ghana. A year later, when teams are supposed to glide from strength to strength (read, Morocco), we did the same thing against Guinea Bissau, not up to the population of one LG in Lagos. Katsina is too big.
Afcon 2023 is only 9 months away. How many matches are they playing before then to become “familiar” with themselves?

There is no guarantee they’d even progress to quarter finals. Let them just keep up appearance. Water cannot be forced out of stone

    • Dear NFF (Nigeria FAILURE Federation),

Allow me to draw your attention to the messages above from Mr Footie-Fanatic and Mr Sly. Nigeria is now reduced to a nation expected to crash out of the group stages of the Africa Cup of Nations under your watch.

It begs the question: under such a deplorable management of national team(s) football, is it even worth being a paid-up/loyal and long serving (or long suffering) member of Nigeria Supporters Club?

Bloody Politician it’s high time CS stop reporting news about this people….. Enough of all this nonsense you people don’t respect Nigerians that is why you keep publishing all this. Sometimes I hate why I have to fall in love with this Game that brings so much pain to me. And seeing what lies ahead is the reason why I’m in deeper pain….. We asked for a decent coach and they gave us this nonsense and as a reliable news source you can not see that this is nonsense….. Did you ever wonder why Amunike proposed to be a coach of the team??? If all was good will he speak out??? You people in Nigeria are not ashamed other countries are employing solid tacticians and all you do is employ Second hand nonsense….. Yeye Country Yeye People!!!

  • With a backlog of unpaid salaries, Peseiro will schieve nothing under such demotivating circumstances.

Coach Peseiro if you would like to build strong Super Eagles, you must do somethings to success fristly, you must play organized, pressing and strong defensive style of play than you take care of offensive play that means you must put drastic defensive tactics in defensive midfield and back sides, this requires on you to recall strong and ferocious defensive midfielders and backs like Okechukwu Azubuike, lesley Ogechukwu if he put allegiance for SE, Anderson Esiti, than to recall shaky Ndidi, Onyeka, Etebo; you must exclude Kevin Akpoguma, put Igho Egbo or Solomon Agbakala instead of him, put Kalvin Bassey in left back than putting him in center back , cause he is active and prolific in this function;secondly you must recall excellent goalkeeper like Arthur Okonkwo if he puts allegiance for SE, give Aniagboso a chance to frist SE goalkeer in Sierra Lieone fixture next june; thirdly, you must recall Michael Olise so that you play depth football; fourthly, you must recall Victor Boniface, Gift Orban,Chuba Akpom than to recall shaky and outform Paul Onauchu, Keleche Iheancho you must excludethem finally from SE, in order to make strong SE attack which can not loose the chances; fifthly, you must inact a code of conducts that any player recalled to SE must obligate with dedication, committment, playing pressing and strong football then die for white and green jersy,if any player dose not obigate on these code of conducts he must be excluded for a length of time after that he can be return back with hard conditions that means any player must perform well as the same he plays at his club, look at lookman, Bassey, Osimhen, Chukwueze,Ndidi,Moffi they did not perform well on Guinea Bissau tow matches ,they were like their shadows can’t score well, can’t recover and tackle well; sixthly, Peseiro must prsee on NFF do not intervene of recalling players, press them to change match’s pitch from bad turf Mashood Abiola in Abjua to Ecellent and World class Godwill Akpbio in Egbo.Peseiro must demand from NFF to appoint Psychologist doctor for SE team, must demand from NFF to appoint Samsun Siasia as frist assistsnt coach, with Tijani Babanjida as second coach, Peter Rufia as goalkeeper coach,Amosa Idissa as fitness coach.
