Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has stated he is opened to inviting more players to the team.
Peseiro invited three new players; Gift Orban, Victor Boniface and Jordan Torunarigha for the team’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe.
With the Super Eagles already assured of a place in Cote d’Ivoire 2023, the Portuguese was expected to have invited more new players for the game against the True Patriots.
The 63-year-old has however defended his decision stating that he is already looking forward to the World Cup qualifiers and AFCON.
“It is important for us to look ahead of the World Cup qualifiers and the AFCON in January. So it is important for us to spend time together, work on tactics and improve on a lot of things,” Peseiro said at his pre-match conference on Saturday.
“You know national team is not clubs where you have enough time to build your team. You spend days, weeks and months together.
“For us, we just have to make use of the transfer windows to work together. After now, we will be together again in October before the World Cup qualifiers starts in November.
“We have three new players here; Orban, Jordan and Victor Boniface. They are all good players and who done well for their clubs.
“We have a lot of good players that I and staff have follow all the time. Weekend at times, we monitored like 40 games.
“So, now we are thinking about building a more cohesive team. Of course, there is always a chance for new players to come in.”
The Super Eagles were knocked out in the Round of 16 at the 2021 AFCON hosted in Cameroon.
Peseiro however believes his team can go all the way this time around.
“Our target since we started was to win the AFCON. We have already qualified and we are looking forward to the competition, “he added.
” We have a lot of good players in the team, they are hungry to do well. We will work hard to win the next AFCON.”

THE BEST INVITATION OF PLAYERS SO FAR HE HAS INVITED. AND THIS IS WHAT NIGERIA WANT. NIFERIA ARE HAPPY SEE EBUEHI, COLLINS, JORDAN-TOROUNARIGHA, BRUNO-ONYEBUAHI, ONYEDIKA, BONIFACE, GIFT ORBAN. Nigeria are still expecting the like of S.OSIGWE, AL-HASSAN,AKPOGUMA. AMAO, EJUKE, DESSERS, MOFFI IN THE NEXT SUBSEQUENT MATCHES.
** PASEIRO SHOULD STOP INVITING IRRELEVANT, INCONSISTENT, BENCHWARMER PLAYERS.
** HE SHOULD STOP INVITING PLAYERS BASE ON EGO, SENIORITY OR EXPERIENCE WITHOUT FITNESS.
** PESEIRO SHOULD STOP INVITING EXPERIENCE PKAYERS THAT ARE NOT AGGRESSIVE OR CAN PLAY 90-MINUTE ON THE FIELD OF PLAY.
IF PASEIRO COMPLY WITH THIS DIRECTION, NIGERIA WILL WIN NEXT AFCON COMPETITION FOR SURE.
If it’s Rohr, he would say we don’t have quality players. But Peseiro is always sounding positive. I like him for that.

The only issue Peseiro is yet to crack is bringing in two very good creative midfielders and two solid center back. If he is able to do this he will even be the best coach and might surpass Westerhoff and keshi’s achievement with his attacking brand of football. Which honestly I like. NFF should give him time like rohr who has no ambition.
You said it all, coach. I know you love Super Eagles so much, and you have set a target for yourself aside from the one NFF has set for you.
Anyway, I will give you another chance to prove to us that you are the man for the job.
I said, ” On here, CSN categorically that for any good coach to build a team for Nigeria, two weeks is enough to prepare the team for Afcon because all our players are professionals but people misunderstood me.
It is very achievable if you don’t have the time to build the team. The national team is not clubside football where you see the players and entire staff members often.

Peseiro knows that the NFF is corrupt, and would like him to select mediocre home-based, so they can pocket the money for flight tickets.
Coach Peseiro if you would like to win the next AFCON. Cup in Cote De Ivore 2024 , you must do these things to success in this tournement, these things as follows: frist, you must play strict and rigorous defensive style , cause Super Eagles have been lacking defensive play since along time; you must recall strong and drastic defensive players like Alhassan youssuf, Azubuike Okechukuwu, Anderson Esiti, Daniel Daga; second: you must make overhaul on back line especially set-pieces errors by center backs, good coverage by defensive midfielders and center bscks espcially coverage the rival when he shoots from distance; third: you must play in depth by using Iwobi or Aribo to do this task tightly;fourth: you must inact a code of conduct in it that any sommuned player to SE must obligate committment ,dedication , enthusiasm for SE team, he must perform as he does in his club more ana more than it, any summoned player does not do these reconstructions he must be dump from the squad.If Peseiro does thess above mentioned things he can win then lift AFCON. Cup next year.
