Inter Milan will take up their option to buy Matteo Politano this summer, according to the Sassuolo winger’s agent.
The Nerazzurri paid five million euros to take Politano on loan with a 20million option to complete last summer in a try-before-you-buy deal.
But the 25-year-old has impressed with five goals and six assists in 38 appearances this season, leading to his agent revealing he would be shocked if Inter don’t redeem their option. “Politano to Inter is a deal we all wanted to happen,” Davide Lippi told Radio Sportiva. “Matteo is having a great season, which is what we expected. Inter were a big jump, it’s true, but they invested in him because they thought he’d make it. “Matteo did well to adapt to the levels and pressures of a big team so quickly, as well as playing in the Champions League.

He responded well, so all the credit belongs to him. “We knew the quality he had. I was convinced of it otherwise I wouldn’t have worked to take him to Milan. “I think he’s a player you can bank on.
I don’t think Inter will miss out on the chance to buy him: it’ll take more or less 20m euros to release him from Sassuolo. “We haven’t talked yet as the season is long, but I don’t think there will be any problems with Inter’s option to buy, given the esteem we’ve received. “We’re all satisfied: the club and fans.”
