Tunde Sanni, Head Coach of Kwara United, has exclusively told Completesports.com that he has a date with destiny when the Harmony Boys face Abakaliki FC in the 2025 President Federation Cup final.
Sanni, a former ABS Ilorin FC gaffer, disclosed that although the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is yet to confirm the date and venue for this year’s domestic cup final, he has a compelling desire to lift the trophy.

“As a player, I only featured in the cup semi-final once — in 1989 — when I was with International Breweries Limited (IBL FC), Ilesa,” Coach Sanni began when Completesports.com reached him on Wednesday afternoon.
“We lost to Iwuanyanwu Nationale (now Heartland FC). As a coach, this is the first time I will be featuring in the final, and I believe it’s a date with destiny.
“Hopefully, I pray to God to crown our efforts with the President Federation Cup trophy — for the government and the good people of Kwara State,” Sanni said.

Wasiu Alalade’s lone strike secured Kwara United a 1-0 victory over Rangers in the semi-final clash of the 2025 President Federation Cup at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena (MJA), Onikan, Lagos.
That victory set the Harmony Boys on the path to their first-ever President Federation Cup final, where they will confront Ifeanyi Onyedika (MON)’s side, Abakaliki FC — who have duly earned the bragging rights as ‘giant killers’ in the 2025 edition, having earlier eliminated Katsina United, Nasarawa United, and Enyimba, among other NPFL sides, on their way to the final.
