Akwa United head coach Kennedy Boboye says his side will fight hard to secure a place in the final of the 2025 President Federation Cup.
The Promise Keepers will take on Kwara United in a quarter-final fixture at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu on Saturday (today).
Akwa United , champions in 2015 and 2017 have successfully navigated their way past Kebbi United in the Round of 64, Mighty Jets Feeders in the Round of 32 and Inter Lagos in the Round of 16 to book their place in the last eight in this year’s competition.

Kwara United made their way to the quarter- finals following wins over Gombe United and Solutions FC.
“We all know that the Federation Cup is a knockout competition and as such, we must not leave any stone unturned. We have to approach the match with all amount of commitment, focus and seriousness with the ultimate aim of securing one of the four semi final tickets,” Boboye told the club’s media.
“We will be facing a fellow Premier league team for the first time in this competition, and we should be ready to go all out and give our best.
“We shouldn’t expect to have an easy game but a tough one. It may be a game of few chances so we have to make the best use of the opportunities that will come our way to ensure we achieve our aim of advancing to the next round .”
