Trott Handed Kent Coaching Role

Kent have handed former England batsman Jonathan Trott a place on their coaching staff for the 2019 One-Day Cup campaign.

The 37-year-old former Warwickshire man retired from playing last year having won the domestic competition in both 2010 and 2016.

Trott also made 68 ODI appearances for England during his playing career and he will assist head coach Matt Walker as Kent look to go one step further than reaching last season’s final of the One-Day Cup.

He said on the club’s website: “Their run to the final last year shows the squad here is one of the strongest in the one-day format. “I’m looking forward to working with this talented group of players.” Kent’s director of cricket Paul Downton added: “Jonathan’s experience in this format of the game will be a valuable asset to complement our coaching team here for the One-Day Cup.”
