Serana Williams has credited her sister, Venus Williams for her rise in Tennis.
Williams, who turns 41 this month, was knocked out in the third round of the U.S. Open tennis tournament in Flushing Meadows, N.Y., on Friday night in a hard-fought match with Ajla Tomljanovic, 29, from Australia.
The 40-year-old legend of the sport was in tears at the end of but insisted they were ‘happy’.
In a last game that went on for nearly fifteen minutes she saved five match points, reeling off a series of forehand winners.

Serena tearfully thanks her big sister, seven-time major champion Venus Williams, for driving her to become arguably the greatest women’s tennis player of all time.
‘And I wouldn’t be Serena if it wasn’t [for] Venus. Thank you, Venus. She’s the only reason Serena Williams ever existed.’
Recall that on Thursday the Williams sisters treated U.S. Open viewers to their first doubles match together in 4½ years, even if the Williamses were eliminated by the Czech pair Lucie Hradecká and Linda Nosková.
